Job Description

This is a full-time pastoral staff position aimed at leading and overseeing a comprehensive ministry of discipleship, teaching, and engagement with youth (grades six through twelve) at the main (island) location of Anastasia Church, a multi-generational, multicultural, and multi-campus church. The youth pastor will provide a scripturally based ministry that encompasses a variety of activities and interests for youth and their parents. This person shall work under the supervision of the Teaching Pastor.

Requirements

The Youth Pastor must be a mature, committed Christian who is passionate about youth ministry and reaching the next generation.  He must be willing to be a member of Anastasia Church and its strategies to CONNECT, DISCIPLE, and GO. He should be able to fulfill the mission of Anastasia Church "Helping people embrace the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ" as it relates to youth ministry.

Additional Requirements

  1. A deep love for people, especially youth and their parents.
  2. A commitment to GO into the community and church family and CONNECT families and youth with the Gospel of Christ and facilitate their overall DISCIPLESHIP.
  3. The Youth Pastor should have excellent relational and organizational skills.
  4. A solid understanding of Scripture and doctrine aligned with the moral and spiritual teachings of Anastasia Church.
  5. Ability to recruit, supervise, and motivate volunteer workers to GO out and engage with the youth effectively.
  6. At least one year of seminary training from an accredited theological seminary, preferably a completed Master of Divinity degree.
  7. A minimum of 3-5 years of ministry experience working with students.

Youth Ministries Responsibilities

  1. GO to youth, CONNECT with youth and DISCIPLE youth by executing a comprehensive youth ministry program to include evangelism, teaching, fellowship, missions and worship.
  2. CONNECT and DISCIPLE and GO with students in close collaboration with the discipleship team so that the youth ministry strategy integrates with the overall Anastasia Church strategies for ministry.
  3. Develop and manage the youth ministry budget effectively to ensure resources are available to CONNECT and DISCIPLE youth and resource them to GO and reach others for Christ.
  4. DISCIPLE youth and their parents on spiritual matters, family issues and school concerns
  5. CONNECT families and youth with the church community.
  6. CONNECT families and youth with relevant Christian, Bible-based community resources.
  7. DISCIPLE youth and parents by providing relevant informational materials to youth and parents as needed.
  8. CONNECT with fosters parents and families to provide support and participation in youth ministries and opportunities.
  9. CONNECT families with ministry opportunities and help them DISCIPLE their children spiritually.
  10. CONNECT with families by conducting periodic meetings with parents to discuss the youth ministry and its developments.
  11. CONNECT and DISCIPLE the youth ministry volunteer team, including a youth associate, through proper supervision and equipping leaders to GO and share the Gospel.

Middle and High School Ministry

  1. CONNECT and DISCIPLE middle and high school aged students by providing distinct ministry programming for each age group.
  2. CONNECT and DISCIPLE middle and high school aged students by providing separate times of weekly worship and teaching for each age group.
  3. DISCIPLE leaders for both age groups in the dynamics of engaging with their respective students, focusing on how to effectively CONNECT, DISCIPLE and GO.

 

Multi-Site Ministry Duties:

  1. CONNECT with Anastasia multi-site location youth ministry leaders and provide support, guidance, and teaching resources as appropriate.
  2. CONNECT youth ministry leaders at Anastasia Church locations with budget and financial resources needed to do effective ministry.
  3. CONNECT youth ministry leaders at Anastasia Church locations by coordinating occasional joint activities for all youth ministries.

Pastoral Ministries Responsibilities:

  1. CONNECT with the Anastasia Church congregation by performing administrative tasks and ministerial duties as needed.
  2. CONNECT with the Anastasia church ministry staff by attending and actively participating in church staff meetings, sharing updates on youth ministry.
  3. CONNECT with deacons by attending monthly deacon meetings as necessary to keep church leadership informed on youth ministry developments and needs.
  4. DISCIPLE safely and securely by implementing “Policy for Providing a Safe Environment for Preschoolers, Children, and Youth” in youth-related activities.
  5. Be willing to CONNECT, to DISCIPLE and to GO by performing other duties as assigned by the Teaching Pastor or Senior Pastor to further the mission of the church.

Ministry Privileges:

  1. Be DISCIPLED and be CONNECTED by attend up to two training events per year at church expense to enhance.
  2. CONNECT and DISCIPLE and GO through encouraging the greater kingdom of Christ. The Youth Pastor may be absent for one week per year to participate in an activity of another church or agency for which remuneration is received, furthering their professional development and connection within the broader church community.
