Next Steps/Connections Pastor Job Description

Job Purpose: We exist to call people to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ, and Next Steps are a critical part of fulfilling that purpose. The Next Steps Pastor role is responsible for leading our discipleship ministries in order to develop a clear pathway which enables every attendee to easily identify their next step in their journey of becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work alongside the Lead Pastor in the vision to call people to know, love, and serve Jesus. Fulfill wedding, funeral, and other pastoral care duties as needed.
• Direct oversight with Next Steps volunteers, including providing support and resources to help build teams (First Impressions (guest services, greeting, welcome center), Groups and Classes, Care, etc), as well as recruting, training, and developing Volunteer Team Leaders
• Implement and adhere to policies and processes for the engagement and involvement of attendees
• Oversee the system that connects a guest from their first visit through being fully engaged at RSCC, including assimilation for new Christians as they become fully devoted followers of Christ
• Create a system for discipleship growth, including but not limted to small groups, Starting Point classes, etc
