About the Pastor/Director of Kids Disciple-Making: 

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Pastor/Director of Kids Disciple-Making to join our team at Providence Church. The ideal candidate will be passionate about nurturing the spiritual growth of children from infancy through fifth grade, with a strong commitment to teaching biblical principles in an engaging and age-appropriate manner. This role involves developing and overseeing all aspects of Kid's ministry, including Kids Life Group, Sunday Night Programming, and special events. The Pastor/Director of Kids Disciple-Making will work closely with parents, volunteers, and church leadership to create a safe, welcoming, and spiritually enriching environment for our youngest members.

The successful candidate must have a deep love for children, excellent leadership development skills, and a heart for discipleship. Experience in children's ministry, preferably in a church of similar size, is highly desirable. This role requires a collaborative leader who can inspire and equip a large team of volunteers while also being hands-on in ministry activities. The Pastor/Director of Kids Disciple-Making will play a vital role in shaping the future of our church by instilling strong biblical foundations in the next generation.

 

The Pastor/Director of Kids Disciple-Making Responsibilities Include: 

  • Plan, organize, promote, and evaluate a comprehensive discipleship program for Kids Ministry (birth–5th Grade), which currently includes the Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary areas of Providence Kids Life Groups, Sunday PM activities, and annual events.

  • Partner with Family and Student Ministries to help develop a comprehensive discipleship model from birth to high school.

  • Coordinate efforts to partner with parents through regular communication and resourcing.

  • Provide leadership, vision, encouragement, and oversight to Kids Disciple-Making staff.

  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers who serve with kids in all aspects of the ministry, and enlist adequate volunteer support.

  • Coordinate the process of upholding the safety and protection policies and procedures within volunteer teams and throughout the ministry.

  • Coordinate our efforts in providing excellent care for volunteers in Kids Ministry.

  • Plan and submit an annual calendar for the Kids Ministry and assure that all ministry events are coordinated through the church calendar.

  • Create an annual budget for the Kids Ministry to be submitted for approval.

  • Coordinate the purchase of ministry-related equipment, supplies, and materials.

  • Coordinate care for families using volunteer and staff teams.

  • Assist in the selection, adoption, and implementation of discipleship curriculum.

  • Develop strategies to communicate the goals and ministries of Kids Disciple-Making Ministry and to assimilate church members into appropriate areas.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree- Required

  • Seminary - Strongly Preferred

  •  5 - 7 years of experience

  • Experience coming from a church of 500+

  • Experience providing supervision to staff

  • Connects well with the kids and gives lots of grace but brings correction when needed.
