INDEPENDENT BIBLE CHURCH

Hispanic Ministries Coordinator

Summary:

Function as overseeing pastor for the El Camino (Spanish Speaking) ministries of IBC. This focuses on evangelism, discipling, leading, teaching, and equipping speakers of Spanish at IBC and through IBC in the Eastern Panhandle of WV. The goal is to reach and disciple individuals and families to be fully devoted followers of Christ, while providing clear vision and direction for the El Camino Ministries. Actively seek to promote effective fellowship with the larger IBC body. Serve on the IBC ministry staff and pastoral team under the direction of the Pastor-Teacher and Elders.

Status: To serve IBC El Camino Ministries approximately 20-25 hours per week (50% of full-time hours).

Objectives and Tasks:

  1. Lead and oversee El Camino as a ministry of IBC.
  2. Teach at IBC on Sundays and Wednesdays.
  3. Train and motivate El Camino members in evangelism and participate in relational evangelism in Martinsburg and the surrounding region.
  4. Encourage individuals and families to be growing disciples of Christ who serve God.
  5. Seek to train Spanish speaking church leaders within the El Camino ministry.
  6. Organize and lead occasional El Camino events to promote fellowship and/or evangelistic outreach.
  7. As able, recruit, equip, and build a team of IBC members to support and participate in reaching Spanish speakers—for example, through volunteers to teach ESL or to provide other acts of service.
  8. Complete other occasional ministry tasks as assigned by IBC’s Pastor-Teacher.

Qualifications:

  1. Must evidence the Biblical Pastoral Qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9) and agree to IBC’s Complete Doctrinal Statement, IBC’s Membership Covenant, and IBC’s Statement on Ministry to Immigrants.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies/Ministry Studies (strongly preferred).
  3. Demonstrate effective ministry experience.
  4. Demonstrate commitment to team building and loyalty to Jesus Christ, the church body, the pastoral team, and his own family.
  5. Be fluent in Spanish and well able to communicate in English.
