The (NLECC) New London Evangelical Covenant Church was established by Swedish settlers in the New London Community, meeting in the town hall in 1891.  A church building was constructed in 1892 and a pastor was called.  Many of the early settlers had experienced the “state directed church” in Sweden and were attracted by the Covenant’s belief in the Bible as God’s Holy Word and the emphasis on personal relationships with Christ.  Those core beliefs continue to define The Evangelical Covenant Church and our fellowship.  The present NLECC church is comprised of people from a variety of church backgrounds and faiths.  The core doctrine of belief in the Bible as God’s Inspired Holy Word and the importance of personal relationship with Christ, allow many to find freedom in the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Our present congregation, is vital, active and welcoming.  The biggest strength impact our church currently has is our children's and youth program. We have enormous outreach through our AWANA, VBS, and Youth Group, and a huge amount of volunteers to support that.

Our desire is to continue growth and attracting young families through our outreach listed above.
