Job Description:

PaulAnn Church is looking for a passionate, Spirit-lead, Godly leader to join the staff as Executive Pastor. This person will oversee the church staff and day-to-day operations of the church. He will help develop a culture of unity, stewardship, and generosity within the church body and will be integral to providing vision alignment across ministries and departments.

This person needs to be relational with strong people skills and have the ability to connect with and unite different personalities that make up our unique staff. He will need to be able to work closely with Lead Pastor and execute his vision for the church.

Job Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Staff Development

  • Develop a staff development plan to implement with supervisors and their direct reports
  • Supervisor to Leadership Team members:
    • Spiritual Formations Pastor
    • Family Pastor
    • Worship Pastor/Lead
    • Chief Operations Officer
    • Leadership Development Pastor
  • Regular one-on-ones and check-ins with direct reports
  • Annual performance reviews with direct reports
  • Coaching/mentoring with direct reports, instilling a culture of regular and valuable feedback
  • Assist Lead Pastor in casting a vision for the staff regarding workplace culture and core values

Ministry Oversight:

  • Provide oversight for Adult (Spiritual Formations) and Family Ministries
    • Assist and collaborate with staff in their ministry areas
    • Provide feedback on inefficiencies or areas needing improvement across ministries to ensure alignment, effectiveness, and strategic development
  • Preaching/Teaching on Sundays and Wednesdays as needed
  • Provide ministerial care to the church membership as needed and required:
    • Funerals, weddings, counseling, etc.
    • Short-term, individual counseling as needed
    • Support, encourage, uplift, visit, and help church members as needed
  • Unlock and Lock-up duties across the church campus

Operations Oversight:

  • Partner with the Chief Operations Officer in various needs and areas:
    • Consulting on any relevant personnel, systems, procedures and vision.
    • Collaboration on management of PaulAnn’s property and assets, including developing proper controls and safeguards to protect said assets.
    • Human Resources development and direction
  • Oversight of any legal (other than Human Resources or Financial/Accounting related matters) requirements of the church.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience (must have one or more of the following)

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.B.A., B.A., or B.S.)
  • Master's Degree from a Seminary preferred
  • 5-10 years related experience and/or training preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Effective communicator with both large groups and individuals (relationally)
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge and understanding of financial statements and processes
  • Strategic planning and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policies and procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate with others while providing an empowering, encouraging environment
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in both written and oral form.
  • Must have knowledge of the internet and Microsoft 365 software.
