ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF YOUTH and/or WORSHIP

Warren Community Fellowship, a non-denominational church, is seeking to fill the positions of Associate Pastor with an emphasis in Youth Ministry and/or Worship Ministry.  We are looking for candidates who are qualified for either of these positions or who are qualified to serve in both capacities.

 

ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF YOUTH 

Reports to:  Lead Pastor  /  Status:  Full-time Permanent                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Purpose: The Youth Pastor is a member of the ministry staff.  He is called to serve in all administrations and ministerial duties that pertain to the service and spiritual growth of youth at WCF and extending out to Columbia County.

Scope: Lead in youth ministries on Sunday morning and mid-week. Manage all aspects of ministry and outreach for Jr. and Sr. High students.  Oversee ministry to Young Adults and office ministry during the week in the absence of the Lead Pastor.  Available to fill the pulpit at the request of the Lead Pastor.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Lead Pastor in the administration of the ministries to youth and young adults.
  • Evangelize, teach, equip and disciple youth into a closer walk with Jesus.  (Matt 28:20: “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.”)
  • Recruit and develop a youth ministry staff, assisting them by supplying their needs for the work of ministry. (Eph 4:12: “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”)
  • Maintain personal spiritual growth to be an example to the body of believers at Warren Community Fellowship, the community of Columbia County, and to the world. (1 Timothy 4:12-16: “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.  Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.  Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying of the hands of the eldership.  Meditate on these things, give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all.  Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.”) 
  • Seek to glorify God and follow His will above all other possible motivations.
  • Pursue to improve skills in ministry through continued education as approved by the Board of Elders. (Financial assistance available through WCF, as approved). 

 

ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF WORSHIP     

Reports to:  Lead Pastor  /  Status:  Full-time / Permanent                                                                                                                                                                                                 

Purpose:  The Worship Pastor is a member of the Pastoral Staff.  He is responsible to assist the Lead Pastor in discipling and guiding the congregation of WCF into a deeper, intimate worship relationship with God through music and corporate gatherings. 

Scope:  In addition to managing the music teams and leading in worship, he will have oversight in the areas of hospitality and technology associated with the production of the worship service.  He will  assist in setting the overall vision for corporate worship, along with the Lead Pastor and Board of Elders.   

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Meet all the pastoral qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Peter 5:1-4.
  • Servant and shepherd leadership that demonstrates God’s love to the church body and beyond.
  • Seeks to glorify God and follow His will above all other possible motivations.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day operations and staff.
  • Skills in change management, setting vision, conflict resolution and people management.
  • 3-5 years of music and corporate worship-leading experience.
  • 3-5 years of management / leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop weekly plans for team scheduling, rehearsal planning, song selection and/or oversight of weekly team leads.
  • Lead / co-lead all Sunday and mid-week services.
  • Work with lead pastor to schedule / coordinate special services and worship activities.
  • Manage and maintain sound, lighting and production equipment associated with Worship Arts Ministry.
  • Assist Lead Pastor in ministries relating to counseling, weddings, funerals and pulpit fill.

Support for the Above Positions Includes: 

  • Office with computer and necessary supplies
  • Administrative assistance, including support from Office Manager
  • Access to operational budget and expense account for purchases
  • Prayers of Elders, Staff and Church Family

Warren Community Fellowship is located in a growing rural community, which is within a 30 minute drive to several larger cities.  Our congregation is comprised of a variety of ages and socio-economic backgrounds.  Our youth group is one of the largest in Columbia County, with approximately 60 teenagers who attend regularly.

Our church's mission is to glorify God by making disciples.  We do that through evangelizing and discipling people to be followers of Christ in every area of life.  Our vision is to love God to love others.  Moving deeper into the greatness of God's love motivates us to love Him more and when we love Him more, we will love others more.
