Job Description
Position Description: Youth Pastor
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Position Status: Full-time
Position Summary: A committed Christian leader with a passion for discipling young people with the gospel and who can relate well with youth, parents, and adult volunteers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain an active, personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord as described in the New Testament and articulated by the expressed teachings of the church.
2. Adhere to Faith Community Church’s Practical Commitments as established by the Church and Pastor’s Council and Pastoral leadership.
3. Lead the church’s efforts to minister with and to youth - 7th through 12th grade.
4. Reach out to unchurched youth in the community and engage them with the gospel
5. Recruit, develop, and deploy new volunteers for the church’s youth ministry.
6. Wisely steward the Youth Ministries operational budget.
7. Develop a Bible teaching calendar for the youth that takes into consideration the full counsel of God’s Word and the spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental needs of the youth in our community.
8. Regularly teach the Bible to the youth with energy and creativity.
9. Participate in general pastoral duties as needed (weddings, funerals, counseling, etc.).
10. Develop and execute a strategic plan for the youth ministry. Establish a long-term vision for how the church engages youth.
11. Be available to preach and teach the Bible in adult worship services when asked.
12. Plan and execute meaningful and exciting events and outings for the youth throughout the year.
13. Work with other church leaders to find ministry opportunities for youth in the broader church family.
14. Participate in all staff meetings and retreats.
Evaluation and Compensation:
To be determined based on education, experience, etc. The Youth Pastor works directly under the supervision of the Lead Pastor and receives an annual performance evaluation from the Lead Pastor in consultation with the Church and Pastor’s Council. Evaluations take place and compensation is reviewed annually in November.
