Job Description
Checkrow Community Church is seeking a part-time Ministry Communications Manager to work with the pastoral team to organize ministries, streamline communication via text, email and website, assist with sermon materials, coordinate visitations and prayer ministries, and help with other office administration. The ideal candidate follows Christ and is detail oriented.
Duties
- Manage email and text alert system
- Organize ministry volunteer sign-ups
- Update website and create engaging social media posts
- Administer background checks
- Distribute curriculum to volunteer teachers
- Manage missionary communications and updates
- Communicate fellowship needs and prayer requests to leadership
- Help coordinate visitation needs
- Prepare sermon inserts and slides
- Edit and prepare bulletin and associated documents
- Conduct office duties including incoming and outgoing calls, order supplies, organize files, maintain church roster, prepare documents, maintain calendar
Qualifications
- Follower of Christ
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills with a desire to use that gift for ministry
- Proficient in MS Word, Google Docs, web-based subscription services for emails, texts and scheduling
- Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines
- Available on some Sunday mornings if needed
- Strong, grace filled communication that is discreet, tactful and confidential
- Professional communications experience preferred
Additional Information
This is a part-time hourly position for about 20 hours per week, requiring two days in office each week and some flexibility regarding ministry needs. Benefits include 24 hours of paid vacation annually. The position reports to the lead pastor and to the church board.
