Grace Bible Church in Elmhurst, IL, is seeking a Pastor/Director of Youth Discipleship who will embrace our life-on-life discipleship culture, providing a warmhearted, Christ-centered ministry to middle and high school students.

Who We Are

At GBC, our mission is to lead others to the forgiveness, healing, and hope found only in Jesus. We aim to be conformed to the image of Christ in every dimension of our lives, glorifying God through deepening relationships upwardly with Him, inwardly in healing, outwardly in love, and “onwardly” in mission. Rooted in prayer, togetherness, and Scripture, we strive to foster a vibrant, multigenerational church family where transformation and discipleship happen.

What You’ll Do

As the Pastor/Director of Youth Discipleship, you’ll lead with creativity and intentionality to foster a thriving youth ministry. Your role will include:

 Discipleship and Spiritual Growth:

  • Teach biblically grounded, culturally relevant lessons to equip students for faith-filled living.
  • Guide students in developing healthy spiritual practices and rhythms for life.
  • Create spaces for students to encounter God and grow a personal, resilient faith.

Community and Belonging:

  • Build a welcoming, safe, and relational environment where every student feels known and valued.
  • Plan engaging events, service projects, retreats, and mission trips to deepen community and draw in unchurched youth.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers passionate about mentoring students.
  • Partner with parents, equipping them to disciple their youth.
  • Collaborate with church leadership to align the youth ministry with GBC’s mission and vision.

Cultural Awareness:

  • Address contemporary issues like identity, relationships, and faith challenges with biblical wisdom.
  • Empower students to live counter-culturally for Christ in an ever-changing world.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who embodies the following attributes:

  • Biblical Integrity: A Christ-centered life marked by humility, teachability, and joy.
  • Relational Leadership: A love for people and an ability to build trust and unity within the church and community.
  • Youth Ministry Passion: A deep calling to disciple and walk with students in their faith journeys.
  • Theological Depth: Clear evidence of calling, formal theological training (preferred), and a strong grasp of Scripture.

Additionally, candidates should have:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in relational disciple-making.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Why GBC?

We’re more than a church; we’re a family. At GBC, you’ll join a community that values prayer, generosity, discipleship, and joy. Our youth ministry is foundational to our vision of making disciples who glorify God through transformed lives.
