Qualifications
1. Experience
- Experience working with young adults & students in a large ministry setting
- Seminary degree preferred or equivalent experience
2. Abilities
- Ability to lead young adults & students to faith in Christ and help them grow
- Ability to teach & preach God’s Word in an engaging and compelling fashion
- Ability to develop, articulate, and implement a cohesive philosophy of ministry
- Ability to work in a team environment and develop teams
- Ability to support the administrative functions of multiple ministry programs
- Ability to demonstrate strong relational, multigenerational skills (connecting with students, parents, and leaders)

Responsibilities
The general responsibility of the Youth & Young Adult Pastor is to provide leadership to the church’s ministry to young adults & students. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Following, Championing, Modeling and Supporting the staff leadership values.
- Connecting ministries of responsibility to the overall church’s vision, mission, ministry philosophy, values, and strategies to help people find and follow Jesus.
- Assist in developing and coaching volunteer leaders for the church’s young adult & student ministry, including recruitment, empowerment, and training.
- Lead the planning and execution of all activities, including Sunday evenings, mid-week gatherings, recreational events, camps, mission trips, leadership training, etc.
- Participating and assisting in Sunday morning worship services to connect with young adults, students, and families
- Teaching and preaching in adult services throughout the year as requested.
- Growing healthy ministry groups for all young adults and students in the greater Puyallup area through a relational, outward focused ministry style.
- Creating and developing strategies to help students find and follow Jesus.
- Leading and collaborating with other Student Ministry staff and volunteers to create a cohesive experience for students and young adults.
- Manage applicable ministry budgets in a responsible fashion.
- Leading & participating other ministry or discipleship workshops as necessary.
