The River Church is located in the Cincinnati suburb of Liberty Township. This is one of the fastest growing regions in Ohio. The River is a non-denominational contemporary congregation (think Passion, Elevation, Maverick City). Our ministry strategy is aligned with Intentional Churches®, focused on equipping each person to reach their “ONE”—the one person close to us but far from God.

We are situated on 13 acres in a country setting surrounded by sprawling neighborhoods and communities filled with families and students.

General Expectations

The Pastor of Student Ministries is responsible for the discipleship and outreach of students from 6^th through 12^th grades. This person will strive to create community and relationships with students such that each student knows they are valued and included. They will serve the students, volunteer leaders, and parents of Student Ministries as a vision-caster, shepherd, teacher, and servant leader.

• Supports and lives out the vision and purposes of The River Church
• Is passionate about students and their families
• Is a team player who supports the other staff and ministries as needed.

• Communicate regularly with parents about Student Ministry activities

General Responsibilities

• To provide leadership, direction, teaching, and shepherding to the volunteers and students in their ministry.
• Develop a discipleship plan for the spiritual growth of students toward spiritual maturity and prepare them for post-high school challenges they may face to their faith and life.
• Create gatherings that are biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high energy.
• Collaborate with our Children’s Ministry in developing the pipeline and handoff of students.
• Recruit and develop a growing base of volunteers for Student Ministries.
• Design and provide small groups for the discipleship of students based on age and gender.
• Provide pastoral care, counseling, and spiritual direction to students on a regular/individual basis. 
• Effectively manage the Student Ministries budget.
• Launch and lead a post-college age ministry

Education and Experience

• An undergraduate degree preferably with a concentration on ministry
• Strong Biblical and doctrine foundation
• Proven track record of leadership, leadership development, and team building with 3+ years’ experience leading in youth ministry.
• Knowledgeable in youth development, culture, and trends

Personal Characteristics

Friendly, outgoing, energetic, relationally driven with a clearly authentic relationship with Jesus. Humble, a learner, relational intelligence.

Good computer skills including social media platforms.
