ABOUT WOODDALE CHURCH
Wooddale Church is a multigenerational, Bible-teaching church in Minnesota with campuses in Eden Prairie, Edina and the University of Minnesota (The Avenue). THE AVENUE PROFILE
The Avenue is a growing local church located on the campus of the University of Minnesota. The Avenue is an ethnically diverse community consisting primarily of young adults and college students from the U of M, Bethel University, the University of Northwestern, and surrounding campuses. The Avenue exists to honor God by making more disciples for Jesus Christ—here, near and far.

OVERVIEW 
The Campus Director is responsible for assisting the Campus Pastor in the overall spiritual leadership and management of the church campus. This role will oversee key areas such as campus operations & administration, discipleship, and preaching, helping to create an environment that fosters spiritual growth, community engagement, and effective ministry. The Campus Associate will also play a vital role in equipping and developing leaders, providing pastoral care, and supporting the strategic direction of the campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. General:

  • This role shares responsibility with the Campus Pastor for all aspects of the ministry occurring at this campus. This includes, but is not limited to, providing leadership and development to the staff, volunteers and attenders, pastoral care, performance management, coordination for services with centralized ministries and creating a culture that supports the mission and vision of Wooddale Church. 
  • Oversee weekly gathering/service, contextualized to the unique demographics of the community. 
  • Responsible for building effective discipleship groups systems which foster church growth and depth of spiritual maturity. 
  • Establish key relationships within the community which help to expand the mission and identify opportunities to serve the distinct needs of the community.

2. Leadership & Operations:

  • Assist the Campus Pastor in the day-to-day operations of the campus, including team management, service planning, and event coordination.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders to ensure smooth execution of weekly services and activities.
  • Assist in overseeing facility management, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure operational excellence.
  • Lead and develop volunteer teams, ensuring that all campus ministries are fully staffed and functioning efficiently.

3. Discipleship & Spiritual Growth:

  • Develop and implement discipleship pathways that encourage spiritual maturity and growth among congregants.
  • Lead small group ministries, ensuring that there is a robust system for connecting people into groups.
  • Mentor, equip, and empower volunteer leaders and lay leaders within the campus community.
  • Provide pastoral care, counseling, and prayer support to members and attenders of The Avenue.

4. Preaching & Teaching:

  • Preach regularly in weekly services and other campus gatherings as needed, delivering biblically sound and engaging messages.
  • Collaborate with the Campus Pastor in the development of sermon series and creative elements for services.
  • Lead Bible studies and discipleship classes, equipping the congregation with sound doctrine and practical Christian living.

5. Community Engagement:

  • Be present and visible at campus events, services, and community outreach opportunities, engaging with members and guests.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of outreach initiatives that serve the community and align with the church’s mission.

6. Administrative Duties:

  • Support the Campus Pastor in strategic planning and vision casting for the campus.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and tracking of ministry outcomes, attendance, and financial stewardship.
  • Participate in staff meetings, leadership development opportunities, and church-wide initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exhibits a strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ evidenced in personal relationships, commitment to the church, personal work ethic, compassion, and living a godly lifestyle.
  • Become or remain a member in good standing at Wooddale Church and regularly participate in the Worship Service at Wooddale Church. 
  • Subscribe to and affirm Wooddale Church’s Statement of Faith and employee manual and covenant.
    Master’s degree preferred.
    A loyal team member who will work under the direction of leadership; is an extension of the Campus Pastor, and by default the Senior Pastor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and can build strong relationships in the community.
  • Organized, a self-starter, innovator, and action-oriented. 
  • Ability to manage priorities well. 
  • Possess a heart to reach people for Christ as well as an intentional focus on the first-time guest experience. 
  • Ability to manage and engage staff at the campus location and delegate when needed. 
  • Ability to lead and grow the campus, employees, and volunteers. 
  • Able to articulate an executable strategy for the campus development.  
  • Needs to have basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Campus Pastor of The Avenue
  • Works with other pastoral staff and ministries across Wooddale Church

 EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK & TRAVEL

  • Typical schedule includes weekday and weekend hours as well as weekend services and responsibilities. 
  • Schedule includes working evenings, weekend, and extended hours as holidays and other events require.
  • Requires the ability to regularly commute to and work from the campuses as needed.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job operates in an office setting and will include using standard office equipment. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and reach with hands and arms. This jobs also requires the ability to lift 30 pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
