Worship Director | Liberty Church
About the role
The main purpose of this role is to help to create an atmosphere where the people of Liberty Church can worship free of distraction, feel comfortable presenting their praise in their own way, and pursue God’s presence. This role is also responsible for leading a talented team of musicians, helping them cultivate their gifts, and bringing them closer to God through the use of their talents and abilities. Position is part-time, but could work into full-time if their are other roles you can fill in the church. Salary is negotiable based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Leading a rehearsal and worship set on Sunday mornings
- Schedule team members based on their availably and the needs of each service
- Organize setlists and communicate arrangements, details, and other information to volunteers
- Build relationships with volunteers
- Communicate regularly with Creative Director
Commitments
- Expected time commitment of 4 hours for Sunday morning services
- Weekday time commitments will vary per week, with an expectation of no more than 4-5 hours of work
- Weekday work may be completed at home
- Attend Liberty Church events
Candidate Qualifications
- Must have the ability to play either acoustic guitar, or piano
- Must have the ability to sing well
- Must understand basic music theory and be able to communicate it to volunteers
- Must have a general understanding of audio equipment
- Must have a good understanding of how to use a computer
- Must be familiar with how to use Planning Center, or similar team management software
Ideal But Not Required Abilities
- Ability to memorize music
- Familiar with in-ear monitor systems
- Familiarity playing with a click track
- Ability to sing and communicate vocal harmonies
