2461 Hebron Church Rd.
Winder, GA 30680
Position Overview
Hebron Christian Church is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Youth Pastor to lead, mentor, and spiritually guide our youth group. The Youth Pastor will play a pivotal role in nurturing the spiritual growth and development of our youth, fostering a welcoming environment, and building strong relationships with both youth and their families throughout our church and the community. At Hebron Christian Church, we focus on discipling students, equipping and empowering them to do the same with others. Discipleship is a cyclical process and we strive to be pouring out and expecting our students to do the same.
Responsibilities
• Plan, lead, and coordinate weekly youth group meetings and Bible studies that are engaging, biblically grounded, and age-appropriate.
• Inspire and encourage students to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen their faith.
• Be available for one-on-one conversations, offering spiritual counseling and support to both students and parents.
• Plan events and activities, including summer camps, service projects, mission trips and special events that promote fellowship, discipleship, and outreach.
• Be available before/after Sunday and Wednesday church to say hello to students and interact with parents
• Collaborate with church leadership to align youth programs with overall vision and mission of the church.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents, church staff, and congregation about youth activities and needs.
• Develop and manage the youth ministry budget
Current Student Ministry Schedule
Sunday Mornings
• Sunday School, led by volunteers, followed by church service in sanctuary
• Preach occasionally as needed
• Monday evenings
• An in-depth Bible study night. High school students currently meet at the Youth Pastor's house; Middle school meets at the church. Students have dinner, then Bible study where we walk through the Bible intently. After the study, we play games and hangout.
Wednesday Evenings
• Wednesday nights look like a contemporary church service geared toward students. We play games, run Bible Drill, occasionally we have worship, we have a lesson and then play games in the gym.
Camps and Retreats
• Students have attended Passion Camp in Daytona for the past 4 years.
• Students attend camps at North Ga Christian Camp. They offer weekend retreats in the fall for middle and high school students. They also have many summer camps.
• College students attend Passion in January every year.
• Church staff is open to new camps and opportunities. Students have attended TCTC in Gatlinburg and Snowbird in NC. We have also been a part of the Mix in Athens, and an Event with Beech Haven.
Qualifications
• A strong, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a life that reflects a deep faith.
• Experience working with youth in a ministry or related setting.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to connect with young people and foster meaningful relationships.
• Creative, energetic, and passionate about youth ministry and students.
• Willingness to collaborate with other church staff and participate in church-wide activities.
• Possess a commitment to Biblical authority.
• Care far more about the students than your image or platform. You control the depth and the integrity of your church, let God determine the width and platform.
• An understanding that leadership is not about how many may follow you, rather its about where the ones follow you end up. Focus less on counting your followers and more on leading them somewhere worth going. As the youth pastor you are leading them to the foot of the cross every day, laying down pride and sin, and coming to Jesus.
Expenses and Compensation
• Expenses incurred while engaged in any activity with students or planning for ministry are covered.
• Salary commensurate with experience
• $400 monthly contribution toward medical insurance
• Housing not included

Additional insights:
Hebron runs about 175 people average attendance with about 50 students on average throughout the week. Our Sunday experience feels like any large church might with excellence in music, teaching, and A/V. We are situated in North Oconee County and the majority of our membership connects to Watkinsville, GA. North Oconee is among the top three school districts in the state. The county is growing rapidly all around our church. In fact, recently, we have begun a Sanctuary Expansion building campaign to accommodate our growing numbers!
In our weekly worship service at Hebron, we stand for the reading of God’s Word. Before we read it, folks will hear something like this said, “The Bible is where Truth comes from,” or “We don’t have to wonder what God thinks. He wrote it down.” It’s a way to affirm that the Bible stands above all other sources of Truth, that the Bible is of divine origin and has the final word in all matters. Why do we do this? In large part because the culture is writing its own theology these days. Most statements of “doctrine” begin with “Well, I think…” or “I believe that…” This is problematic. We have become a generation of believers who are unfamiliar with the historic doctrinal teachings of the Church. We are a generation of believers whose faith in loosely tied to Scripture. Our theologies have become blended with the cultural values and worldview of our day (syncretism).
In contrast, the Bible historically has always been looked to by the Church whether in times of recovery or persecution or exponential growth for more than just guidance, but as the substance of what was taught in those times. Why? Because there is power in the correct and unapologetic teaching of the Word of God. In the words of the Apostle John, what we have to go on are not a personal encounter with the resurrected Christ, but the written accounts; hence, “these are written that you may believe…” (John 20:31).
