Westgate Chapel (WGC) is passionate about being a Jesus-centered community that is known for intentionally sharing God's love with our neighbors and the nations.  With approximately 925 weekly attendees, we are located in Toledo, OH (Sylvania Township) and sit on 15 acres of land right off the I-475/U.S. 23.  Our building is comprised of 84,000 sq ft of ministry space with a full children's and youth wing, full-size gymnasium, regulation baseball field, and more.

Position Description:

The Middle School Pastor will give primary leadership to the Middle School Ministry while working in collaboration with the Student Ministry Pastor (who leads the High School Ministry).  The Middle School Pastor will be responsible for cultivating ministries that encourage spiritual growth and maturity of middle school students through the development and implementation of teaching and activities that are in line with the Vision and Mission of WGC.

Reports to: Student Ministry Pastor

Qualifications:

• Spiritual:
  • Must be a born-again believer through faith in Jesus.
  • Demonstrates a vital and growing relationship with Jesus.
  • Maintains a fresh and vital personal prayer and devotional life.
• Professional
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in student ministry within the local church context.
  • Must possess or be working toward a bachelor's degree in a ministry related field.
  • Must be in full agreement with the Doctrinal Statement and mission/vision of WGC.
  • Must be licensable by the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
  • Must possess evidence of God's call to pastoral ministry.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to teach God's Word to students in a way that is Bible based and relevant to their lives.
  • Must be a strong proponent of small group ministry
  • Possess the ability to inspire motivate and mobilize both youth and volunteers.
  • Believe in bringing the fun through events and retreats while not neglecting the discipleship of students.
  • Stays current with student cultural trends.
