Scope:
This position has oversight and responsibility for all audio, video, and production which is primarily focused on Sunday morning, but also includes worship team rehearsals, any special services, and other events as needed. They work with the Director of Worship and the production team om a weekly basis and coordinate each "back of house" production item needed for a successful service or event. The role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and leadership skills to ensure the church;s message and worship services are effectively communicated to the congregation and online audience.
Vision:
This position should strive to uphold CBF's philosophy of worship in all ways. The vision of CBF is to exalt Christ through corporate worship that does not seek to exalt any man or simply entertain its members. This position's aim is to use the means of technology to help lead the congregation in genuine and holy worship that is free of idols.
Qualifications for the Position:
- Must be a devotd follower of Jesus Christ and will be expected to be a member in good standing or to become a member of CBF.
- Training and experience with digital sound board operations, DAW operation, video cameras, video switchers, production lighting, and computer presetation software.
- Strong leadership and team building skills with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers and staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A general competency is needed in production progrms such as but not limited to: Planning Center's Services, Ableton, ProPresenter, Vista, DLive, WAVES, Dante, and Resi.
- Must be highly organized and detail orientated with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Three (3) years of experience in a church or related production setting is preferred including work with audio, video, and lighting.
- Experience in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers is desired along with dependability and flexibility.
- Muscial training or background is preferred.
- A desire to see those around them grow in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ.
Overall Responsibilities:
Stage Preparation and Management
- Plan and oversee the specific stage preparation for each service which includes ecerything from stage design and equipment placement to ensuring proper sound and video checks are performed prior to each service. Nothing should be presented on screen or stage that has not een previewed prior to a service.
- Meet weekly with the Director of Worship to create a plan for each service that fulfills his team's goals and meets the needs of the pastors and congregation.
- Use technology to platform the preaching of God's Word and worship of God's people. The goal is to create a worshipful environment that allows people of different ages, abilities, and backgrounds to participate in the gathering of the Church in such a way that they can hear and respond to the Lord.
- Recruit, train, schedule and manage the production team that helps with all backstage aspects of service production and special events.
Audio
- Serve as an audio engineer. Recruit and train volunteers to serve as audio technicians.
- Provide sound check of all lines/videos prior to each service.
- Utilize Ableton Live DAW for live stream audio.
- Ensure the Dante network is operational for click track, live stream, and audio each week.
- Learn CBF's sanctuary schematics and systems to quickly be able to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Produce recordings for the website.
- Maintain audio and related equipment.
- Provide audio for special events and offsite events.
Lighting
- Recruit, teach and empower a team of volunteers to provide excellent lighting for all CBF services.
- Design necessary lighting cue lists for all services and events.
Video & Stage Related Technology
This position serves as the expert on technology related to the stage and keeps the Executive Pastor informed of specific concerns or needs related to that equipment while performing or overseeing the performance of the following:
- Video production.
- All other production responsibilities.
- Maintenance of the production equipment and technology, a partial list of which follows:
- Video equipment - cameras, video switcher, IMAG equipment , etc.
- Sound equipment - sound board, audio cables, instrument mics and hook ups, wireless transmitters and receivers, live stream equipment, etc.
- Lighting - lighting board, fixture, DMX cables, etc.
- Other equipment - all computers for services, projectors, screens, church wide TV's and speakers, etc.
Special Production and Special Events
- This position facilitates special events and productions, including large-scale services, banquets, and offsite events.
- Work with the Director of Worship to plan and implement production rehearsals and technical rehearsals.
- Provide AVL support for all CBF ministries as needed.
Tech Team Management and Discipleship
- This position recruits, schedules, trains, and leads the Worship Tech Team.
- Strives to foster a collaborative work environment which encourages personal growth and development.
- Facilitates discipleship through leading prayer, encouraging discussion, supporting small group interactions, and one-on-one connections with team members.
