Teaching Pastor Job Description

Job Description: 

Grace Bible Church is searching for the next man of God to faithfully lead our   congregation. The church is located in a small rural community in southern New Jersey. Grace Bible Church is a Bible believing church that has an average weekly attendance between 100 and 125 people. The Pastor would be responsible for carrying out and/or overseeing the preaching/teaching of Sunday morning and evening services, Sunday School classes, and a midweek service. Grace Bible Church is mission-minded, as we support up to 20 different missionaries as well as local missions projects including food pantry and other forms of community outreach. 

Overview of Expectations

• Lead and guide the church body in collaboration with fellow church leaders (deacons and elders)
• Overseeing/executing the preaching of Sunday morning and evening services 
• Oversee the teaching of a Sunday school class
• Lead midweek evening prayer service
• Preach, teach, and encourage missions
• Oversee various administrative responsibilities of the church 
• Meet with fellow elders and the deacon board regularly
• Follows Grace Bible Church doctrine
• Discipleship
• Meets the Biblical qualifications for Pastor

Qualifications

• Previous pastoral experience preferred
• Seminary degree highly preferred
• Experience in missions/outreach ministries a plus
• Counseling experience a plus
