About the Church
Central Presbyterian Church is a large, established church in the heart of Anderson, South Carolina, that naturally and intentionally brings multiple generations together. The church is a nice blend of people from various backgrounds and political views united in their desire to show love to all. The church is a place in which all are welcome and where members enjoy spending time with their church family.
About the Ministry
The CPC Children’s Ministry serves Central Presbyterian’s youngest - babies through children in fifth grade. Sunday programming involves Nursery care, Sunday School, and Children’s Church. Wednesdays on the Bridge provides elementary-age children with after school activities, including recreation, crafts, children's choir, bells/chimes, and faith formation.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who feels called to build a sustainable children’s ministry. The candidate will recruit and lead a team of volunteers to nurture children in their faith while guiding parents to develop faith practices at home.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive children’s ministry program aligned with the church’s mission and values.
- Recruit and equip a team of children’s ministry volunteers who share ownership of the ministry.
-Innovate and adapt to meet the unique needs of today’s children, going beyond traditional approaches.
-Choose or design an engaging curriculum that builds a strong foundation in faith and understanding of worship.
-Foster strong communication and relationships with families, ensuring they feel supported in their children’s faith journey.
Qualifications
- Passion for nurturing faith in children within a joyful and inclusive environment.
- Ability to lead change effectively, ensuring the program evolves to meet current needs
- Commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education opportunities.
- Experience and/or degree in Education/Christian Education
