About Salem United Methodist Church

Our congregation is a mission minded blend of conservative, traditional, and socially moderate mindset of values and beliefs. All love each other and work well together. Salem has and continues to have open minds, hearts, and doors within and outside our immediate community. In addition, we have some traditional families that date back to the inception of the church from 1792. Salem United Methodist is a very welcoming congregation and has a very strong and active church staff who welcome strong pastoral leadership.

Our church is located in a suburban, growing area in Denver, NC. Both the Denver community and Salem UMC are made up of all classes of people including blue collar, white collar, professional, and business people. There has been tremendous residential growth over the past four years. Several hundred homes have been built in the community and some directly across the street from the church. There are many new businesses and non-denominational churches as well.  New churches have been and are being built in the community.

Our Vision: God calls Salem United Methodist Church to be the Spirit of Jesus alive in the world today and to love everyone.

Our Mission: Salem United Methodist Church will make our vision a reality by providing an atmosphere that inspires our church family to demonstrate the unlimited love of Jesus by reaching out into the community and then providing a hospitable place for visitors to be welcomed into His open arms.

Our Mission is being accomplished through worship services, small groups, evangelism, hospitality, and new opportunities generated by these ministries. We currently have several small group Bible studies, one of which meets outside the church walls in the community. For many years our youth have participated in local and non-local mission trips.
