Job Description:

Pioneer Evangelical Church - Lead Pastor Position

Pioneer Evangelical Church, located in Dayton, Oregon, is a member of the Pacific Conference of
the Evangelical Church, and is seeking a new full-time pastor due to the planned retirement of our current pastor.

About Us:

We have approximately 50 active members with an annual budget of approximately $90,000. Pioneer Evangelical Church is financially stable. The church, education wing, and parsonage (across the street) and church property are debt free and owned by the congregation. There is one service at 10:30 am on Sundays, and a Wednesday morning Bible study. Sunday service is live on-line via Facebook. Mission support is done primarily through donations, but teams have traveled to work in Honduras as well. Facilities maintenance has been done by an active Trustees Committee. Visitors and new members say they are attracted to our church by the feeling of love, good humor and acceptance, and the conservative, solidly biblical tone. We expect that our new pastor would demonstrate these qualities. Attendance has been stable over time, with new members coming as some move away.

Our Community:

Our location is just off state highway 18 in the small town of Dayton (population 2,700), midway between McMinnville and Newberg, Oregon. The church building is used as a home base by community groups (community chorus, jazz band, brass ensemble, addiction support, Yamhill County Women In Agriculture) during the week. Each summer Pioneer Evangelical Church combines with other Dayton churches to have a “Church In The Park” Sunday service.

We Believe:

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God; that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are three manifestations of God united; that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived without sin, and died as a substitute for sinful mankind; that Jesus rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return; that salvation is a gift from God received through faith and not merit; and that the Holy Spirit lives within everyone who is saved.
