Student Ministry at New Life is passionate about guiding middle and high school students on their spiritual journey. Through vibrant weekly gatherings, student events, and small groups, the youth ministry seeks to help students grow in faith, build strong relationships, and make a lasting impact in their communities. The church is committed to creating a supportive and engaging environment for students to explore their faith and develop a strong foundation in Christ. 

 

Position Summary 

We are seeking a passionate and Christ-centered Student Ministry Director/Pastor to lead and disciple our middle and high school students. The ideal candidate will have a heart for students, a strong biblical foundation, and the ability to create a fun, engaging, and spiritually enriching environment for youth. The Student Ministry Director/Pastor will oversee all aspects of our youth ministry, including weekly gatherings, special events, small groups, and outreach programs. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Student Discipleship:?Lead and facilitate weekly youth gatherings, Bible studies, and small groups that encourage spiritual growth, discipleship, and fellowship. 
  • Evangelism & Outreach:?Develop and implement creative strategies to reach unchurched youth in the community and integrate them into the life of the church. 
  • Mentorship & Leadership Development:?Build meaningful relationships with students, offering pastoral care and spiritual guidance, while training and equipping volunteer leaders to support the ministry. 
  • Event Planning:?Organize and oversee youth events such as retreats, mission trips, service projects, and social outings that foster community and Christian service. 
  • Partnering with Parents:?Collaborate with parents to support the spiritual growth of their students and keep them informed and engaged in the ministry’s activities. 
  • Collaboration:?Work alongside church staff and ministry teams to integrate youth ministry into the overall mission and vision of the church. 

 

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Spiritual Maturity:?A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a lifestyle that reflects a commitment to biblical values and Christian integrity. 
  • Education:?Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry, Biblical Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is a plus but not required. 
  • Experience:?Previous experience leading youth or student ministries in a church or parachurch organization is preferred. 
  • Theology:?Agreement with the church’s evangelical statement of faith and core doctrines. 
  • Communication Skills:?Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capability to teach and preach effectively to youth. 
  • Relational Skills:?Ability to connect with middle and high school students, engage them where they are, and inspire them to deepen their relationship with Christ. 
  • Leadership:?Proven ability to lead, organize, and grow a ministry team, including volunteers. 
  • Technology Savvy:?Competency with social media, digital tools, and youth-relevant communication platforms. 

 

Compensation Overview 

  • Salary Range: $60,000 - $72,000, based on qualifications and experience.
