The Big Picture
Smith Corner Church (https://smithcorner.church) is seeking a dedicated and visionary Senior Pastor to lead our vibrant congregation of 150-200 members. This individual will provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and strategic guidance, ensuring our church’s mission and values are effectively pursued.
Job Description:
The Senior Pastor will oversee both the spiritual and administrative aspects of the church. Key responsibilities include delivering impactful sermons, providing pastoral care, and leading church staff and volunteers. The Senior Pastor will also manage church operations and engage in evangelism and outreach efforts, fostering a dynamic and growing community.
Responsibilities:
Preaching and Teaching:
- Deliver biblically-grounded sermons and teachings that inspire and educate the congregation.
- Lead Bible studies, small groups, and educational programs to facilitate spiritual growth and discipleship.
Pastoral Care:
- Provide pastoral counseling, prayer support, and spiritual guidance to individuals and families.
- Conduct hospital and home visits to offer comfort and coordinate pastoral care ministries.
Leadership and Administration:
- Provide visionary leadership aligned with the church's mission and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with church staff and leaders to plan worship services, events, and ministries.
- Manage church operations, including budgeting, staffing, and facility oversight.
Evangelism and Outreach:
- Engage in evangelistic efforts to share the gospel and integrate newcomers into church life.
- Develop and implement outreach initiatives and community service programs.
Discipleship and Equipping:
- Equip congregation members to grow in faith and engage in ministry and service.
- Offer leadership training and mentorship to emerging leaders and volunteers.
Cultural Engagement:
- Stay informed on cultural trends and societal issues, addressing them biblically within the church community.
- Foster dialogue and understanding on relevant topics to encourage community engagement.
Office Hours:
- Maintain agreed-upon office hours (typically Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) for accessibility.
Qualifications:
- Ordained minister with a theological degree from an accredited seminary.
- Demonstrated pastoral experience, leadership ability, and spiritual maturity.
- Strong communication skills for teaching, preaching, and counseling.
- Commitment to personal spiritual growth and ongoing professional development.
- Passion for pastoral care and transforming lives through the gospel.
