GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Children's Director/Pastor at Century Assembly in Lodi, CA, is a full-time position responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the children's ministry, from infants to pre-teens. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and spiritually
enriching environment where children can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. The Children's Director/Pastor will work closely with church leadership, parents, and volunteers to develop programs and activities that align with the church's mission
and vision.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Spiritual Leadership:
- Provide spiritual leadership and discipleship to children, helping them develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Lead age-appropriate worship, Bible teaching, and prayer activities.
- Ensure that all teaching aligns with Assemblies of God doctrines and values.
- Program Development:
- Plan, organize, and oversee all children's ministry programs, including Sunday School, midweek services, Vacation Bible School, and special events.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that is both biblically sound and engaging for different age groups.
- Create a welcoming environment for children and their families, ensuring inclusivity and safety.
- Visioneer Management:
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of visioneers to assist with various aspects of the children's ministry.
- Provide ongoing support and encouragement to visioneers, ensuring they are equipped to serve effectively.
- Coordinate schedules, assignments, and responsibilities for visioneers.
- Family Engagement:
- Partner with parents to support the spiritual growth of their children.
- Provide resources and opportunities for families to engage in faith-based activities together.
- Maintain open communication with parents, addressing concerns and celebrating successes.
- Administration:
- Oversee the children's ministry budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Maintain records of attendance, volunteer participation, and child safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all church policies, including child safety and protection guidelines.
- Community Outreach:
- Develop outreach programs to connect with families in the Lodi community.
- Organize events and initiatives that invite unchurched families to experience the love of Christ.
- Foster relationships with local schools and organizations to support the community and extend the church's influence.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
- Bachelor's degree in Children's Ministry, Christian Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Ordained minister with the Assemblies of God or willingness to seek ordination (preferred).
- Proven experience in children's ministry leadership.
- Strong knowledge of Assemblies of God theology and teachings.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with children, parents, and volunteers.
- Passionate about nurturing the faith of the next generation.
- Screening: Fingerprinting, Mandated Reporter Training
Work Schedule:
We would like this to be a full time position but also accepting part time applications, requiring availability on Sundays, Wednesday evenings, and special events as needed.
