The Graphic Design and Communication Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing overall internal and external communications strategies at Crossroads Church based on the vision given by the Executive Team and the Assistant Director of Operations and shaped by the Crossroads Church Core Values.
Job Duties:
Design & prepare for graphics & layouts for upcoming events, classes, highlights, etc. in multiple formats for multiple destinations (Social, announcement loops, lower thirds, posters/handouts, etc)
Manage Crossroads Church Social Media accounts:
Create/schedule daily posts, Respond to messages, comments
Manage Communications Workflow and request system:
Review & approve requests from Planning Center Calendar.
Connect w/staff if items are missing or need to be changed.
Create and manage deadlines; determine what promo needs are needed & priority
Schedule & plan Communications meetings w/staff to discuss upcoming events, timelines, etc
Manage the Crossroads Church Simple Texting and "Station" Announcement Platforms Create and add graphics to Planning Center Calendar & Registrations events.
Manage the Crossroads Church Website, make edits and redesigns as needed.
Schedule, equip, and provide content to the Sunday morning service host team.
Design/Print newcomer welcome materials as needed (handouts, hello cards, kids materials, etc.)
Design marketing/promotional products (t-shirts, tote bags, pens, mugs, stickers, banners, yard signs, etc).
Coordinate with the Assistant Director of Operations to design/creation & installation of churchwide/building signage as needed.
Skills/Qualifications
Must have:
Understanding of Crossroads’ mission and values and intentionality in fostering these
elements across all aspects of church life and ministry
Has a personal, walking relationship with Jesus Christ and become an active member of Crossroads Church within 6 months of hire date.
Effective leadership skills including but not limited to setting clear expectations, equipping team
members for success, empowering others and providing encouragement and accountability
Positive attitude and approach with Christ-like interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-directed, skilled in prioritizing tasks and workflow
Attention to detail
Able to prioritize and handle multiple projects
Administrative skills, including writing and editing, mastery of church management systems
(Planning Center).
Team player with servant’s heart
Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
Associate Degree or equivalent experience in communications and design
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
Knowledge of federal copyright laws
Knowledge of what’s new in technology
Understanding of pulse of Crossroads, the culture outside of the church and can strategize
ways to build bridges from the community to the church
Ability to help people connect the dots to take their next steps toward Christ once they’re at
Crossroads
Working knowledge of technology and communication strategy and implementation
Physical Requirements & Working conditions:
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer
