Worship Pastor/Director

The Worship Pastor/Director is a passionate follower of Jesus who is growing in their faith, loves the local church, and follows the leading of the Holy Spirit. They will believe in and wholeheartedly support the mission, vision, and values of Community Church Playa (CCP).

Position Description:

The Worship Pastor/Director is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and, in partnership with the Lead Pastor, will develop a culture of worship for the church. 

The Worship Pastor/Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of worship, from service planning to worship environment to team development, and ensuring that every worship experience invites the congregation to encounter God through the power of the Holy Spirit. 

The Worship Pastor/Director will report directly to the Lead Pastor, who will be their supervisor. They will work together to establish rhythms of work and meetings, including weekly staff meetings. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Worship leadership and weekly service planning
• Lead, recruit, and train worship team members, including vocalists, musicians, and volunteers
• Organize and lead weekly rehearsals as needed
• Oversee the worship ministry budget
• Provide spiritual leadership and care for the community 

Ideal Experience:

• Leading worship in a church setting
• Executing worship services, from creative planning to logistical execution
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in using Planning Center

Work Expectations and Compensation:

• This is a part-time, hourly role, compensated between $40-$50 an hour for 10 hours per week
• This includes 4 hours on Sunday, 2-3 hours of staff meetings, and 3-4 hours of preparation
