Children’s Director

The Children's Director is a passionate follower of Jesus, who is growing in their faith, loves the local church, and follows the leading of the Holy Spirit. They will believe in and wholeheartedly support the mission, vision, and values of Community Church Playa (CCP).

Position Description:

The Children’s Director is a member of the Senior Leadership Team of CCP and will oversee the care of and spiritual development of our children (ages 0-6) by creating an environment where the children will be safe, can have fun, and come to know the love of Jesus. 

The Children’s Director will oversee all aspects of the Children’s Program, including creating engaging and age-appropriate educational content as needed, leading a team of volunteers, and fostering a welcoming environment for families.

The Children's Director will report directly to the Lead Pastor, who will be their supervisor. They will work together to establish rhythms of work and meetings, including weekly staff meetings. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and lead weekly environments, activities, and programming for children of CCP
• Oversee check-in procedures on Sundays and track weekly ministry attendance
• Establish a strategy for communicating with families
• Create a follow-up process for families and new visitors
• Oversee the Children’s Ministry budget
• Recruit, train, and equip volunteers

Ideal Experience and Education:

• 3 Years of experience in a similar position, either paid or voluntary 
• Education experience related to children’s ministry/education

Work Expectations and Compensation:

• This is a part-time, hourly role, compensated at $35.00 an hour for 10 Hours Per Week
• This includes 4 Hours on Sunday // 2-3 Hours Staff Meetings // 3-4 Hours Preparation
