I. Summary of the position:
The Lighting Director serves as the primary lighting designer for all live
events, worship services, and broadcast events. This position is responsible
for all matters related to lighting design, including visual content for LED and
projection, design, maintenance, and repair of lighting, LED, and projection
equipment, as well as the overall vision for lighting across all campuses. This
position oversees, leads, and directs a team of production-related staff and
volunteers for all live and broadcast events, specifically focusing on lighting
and visual design. This position requires a qualified individual with
competencies in leadership, organization, team building, problem-solving,
self-starting, and collaboration.
II. Experience and Knowledge Required:
• Proven skill, knowledge, and experience working in live production
environments with a
• strong emphasis on lighting for worship and teaching in a broadcast
environment
• Experience leading and working with production staff and volunteers
• Preferred working knowledge in operating, managing, and maintaining
production
• equipment, including but not limited to - ProPresenter, Media Servers
(Resolume),
• GrandMA Lighting, Lightkey, DMX Fixtures, NovaStar/Brompton
Processors,
• Absen/ROE LED panels, Cinema/DSLR Cameras, For.A/Ross Switchers.
• Proven ability in programming and operating a variety of lighting consoles;
and designing and managing lighting in a variety of different venues
• Proven ability in lighting programming and design in a variety of live
production
• environments
• Proven ability to recognize, troubleshoot, correct, and adjust lighting/visual
issues without delay, for live and broadcast events
III. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Serve as the lead lighting director for live events, broadcasts, and
campuses
• Procure, install, manage & maintain all lighting equipment & systems
• Lead, train, and develop staff and volunteers in all areas of lighting design
& execution
• Lead in the programming of lighting and media servers across all
campuses
• Lead in the design, installation, and implementation of new lighting
changes (set designs), deploying fixtures and LED/projection technology,
and integration projects
• Setup and breakdown of production equipment, cables, and patches;
conduct line checks, troubleshooting, repair, maintain, and ensuring
proper function of all equipment
• Perform regular maintenance of equipment, troubleshoot and/or repair
production related equipment as problems and/or issues arise across all
campuses
• Assist in the creative planning process, design, and execution of major
BRAVE events
