Job Description:

Living 10 minutes from the South Florida island beaches sound good? Working at a passionate church committed to Jesus, God’s Word, and transforming the community sound like you?  Would being a team member with 12 other staff members who are all dedicated to serving the King and His Kingdom and pulling together to impact people for Christ fit your passion and concepts of Body-life ministry?

We are New Hope Fellowship in Palm City, FL. Our mission statement is, “Love God.  Change the World.”  We currently need God’s person to lead our students and help create a culture of healthy families. We are looking for someone who relates incredibly well to students and their parents, who is comfortable with kids all over the socioeconomic and cultural map, who is PASSIONATE about the Gospel and MOST importantly who values prayer and intimacy with Christ over busyness.

New Hope is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, hard-working, team player who has a PASSION for working with students. The Student Pastor will have the primary responsibility of overseeing the student ministry (6th-12th grade) through nurturing, discipling, and building relationships with students and their families.  The vision for the church is disciples making disciples, therefore we are looking for someone eager to mentor and replicate and empower others.

Valuing prayer has to be more than words.  It has to be a current reality for you.  Our area of the nation was named one of the 50 most godless areas of the USA and therefore fancy, nifty and new aren’t enough here.  There is a war raging for our kid’s souls and we believe prayer is an essential weapon.

We are a church with a strong teaching Pastor and several of our staff are also gifted teachers.  The Word of God is our rule of faith and practice, and we preach and teach it without compromise or apology.  A large portion of our church growth has been due to the strong Bible teaching at New Hope Fellowship.  You would need to have good communication skills with youth and your teaching would need to be Biblically sound even while being attractive to today’s culture.

New Hope is a church drawn together from people of many different kinds of church and cultural backgrounds.  So, we major in the majors not in the minors.  Our common love for Jesus Christ, His Gospel, living a life of Divine-Love toward God and others, the life of love-generated holiness out of a passion to please God and to conform to our Lord, Jesus Christ, a life of mission and service and a culture of servant leadership for all who lead are the essentials around which we become one.  While we are under authority to a denomination for continued doctrinal purity and accountability (we are Nazarene), as well as supporting the missionary work of our denomination both locally and worldwide, we operate otherwise as a community church with serving our community being our overriding mission.

We are also a Church of passionate worship.  Our services aim to allow worship to a blended group.  It is not unusual for us to be on our feet with hands in the air and outbursts of “Amen” and “Praise God” or “Hallelujah” to fill the air as tears rim over our eyes.

Staff meetings are weekly and are 3 hours long.  They start with praying for our people’s request, then a time of Bible study and teaching from our Lead Pastor and then the reports of the staff followed by planning and coordination of ministries and events.  If you are someone with ink splotches in your bible, you would fit well.

The job will entail about 20 hours a week of necessary office time depending on your organizational strengths. The rest needs to be on your knees and in interaction with students, parents, and volunteers in ministry and counseling and leading the weekly youth services.  Musical ability would be a great plus if you have but is not a requirement.

The salary range is $50,000 to $60,000 (depending on education and experience) with a health stipend, and paid vacation/ holidays.
