Associate Pastor Job Description
Vision for this ministry position: The Associate Pastor will seek to help youth, parents, and the church body to grow in their knowledge of Christ and their ability to make Christ known in the context of the family unit and the church family.

- A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Regular practice of spiritual disciplines
- A person of prayer
- Strong relationship skills
- A healthy balance of work and rest in their life
- A person of integrity who has a good reputation with those outside of the church
- In agreement with Hauser Community Church’s statement of faith
- Meet weekly with Lead Pastor to maintain a discipleship relationship
Knowledge/Gifting/Skills/Abilities/Experience:
- Strong abilities and experience in equipping leaders and working with teams
- Ability to connect relationally with parents, children, and youth
- Good teaching ability and communication skills
- Ability to work closely with current staff, Elders, Deacon board, and other ministry leaders
- Ability to develop and implement strategy
- 5–10 years experience in youth and/or children’s ministry preferred
- Bible college, Seminary degree, or church leadership experience preferred. Other qualifications and training will be considered
- Ability to delegate responsibility to volunteers as appropriate
- Ability to be organized and be a self-starter
Responsibilities:
- Help in building a discipling culture among youth, parents, and the church body
- Reach out to and invest in college age/young adults in the local community
- Recruiting and equipping a team of volunteers in Youth ministry and Sunday School
- Create and maintain a physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually safe environment for the youth group
- Encourage and equip parents in their role as primary disciplers of their children. Support them in teaching and mentoring their children in a life of following Christ
- Develop a Youth leadership team who will be equipped to lead and make disciples of their peers
- Integrate youth into the larger church community
- Help foster an “extended family” atmosphere where all ages are valued in and contribute to the body of Christ
- Be involved in the community (North Bay Elementary school, North Bend Middle and High School, Marshfield Junior High and High School, etc.), seeking out relationships with those who do not know Christ; modeling a missional lifestyle
- Recruiting and Equipping: This position requires someone who enjoys seeing others succeed and grow in their leadership abilities. The Associate Pastor must first be an equipper, and secondly a doer.
- Be on the rotation for preaching in main service (at least four times per year)
- Meet with HCC Kid’s Director to foster continuity between children and youth ministries
- Teaching regularly in Youth group, but also developing others who are able to teach and lead
- Regularly attend youth events (sports, plays, meets, recitals, etc.)
Salary and Benefits:
Salary: $35–40K based on experience
Hours: Full-time (40+ hours/week)
Benefits: Parsonage and health benefits; possibility for ongoing education after a time of probation.
