Responsible for the overall leadership and oversight of the Children’s Ministry. Most importantly to lead children in the ministry to a saving knowledge of Jesus and continue to teach and disciple as they grow. All planning, programs and essential functions below should be centered around that primary objective.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and carryout a vision and discipleship strategy for the Children’s ministry that fits with the overall vision of The Fountain Church. This should include plans to grow the ministry through outreach, community involvement, partnering with schools etc.
- Recruit and train volunteers (partners) to become part of the ministry team, maintain background checks.
- Ensure Parents are involved in children’s discipleship and help equip them when needed and invited.
- Teach and provide oversight for all aspects of Children’s ministry including curriculum and programs for: 1) Sunday morning Children’s Worship 2) Wednesday Night Children’s Programs.
- Lead and Plan Annual Vacation Bible School Program.
- Lead and Plan Children’s outreach events including Trunk or Treat, Big Family Game Night, one “Summer Bash” and others as desired or assigned.
- Provide input to Financial Administration for Annual Budget and ensure spending is within overall framework of budget.
- Manage staff credit card carefully and professionally. Turn in all receipts to The Financial Administrator in a timely fashion.
- Work as a ministry partner with the rest of the ministerial and support staff. This includes attending all staff functions including staff meeting, retreats, planning sessions etc.
- Participate and provide support and leadership (when necessary) in church-wide events outside of Children’s outreach programs.
- Reach out to children/families periodically through calls, notes, emails etc. Especially, when they have been absent from regular programs.
- Pray for every student and families regularly.
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Pastor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Christian with strong spiritual maturity.
- Love for Children with high energy and strong desire to see Children come to know Jesus.
- 5 years of experience working with Children in a Church or Christian School.
- Some College or Ministry School preferred, but not required.
- Good organization and computer skills.
