Lead Pastor

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God, a teachable spirit, and a healthy family life.
- Has a personal spiritual life congruent with the biblical mandates for leaders found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
- Capable of creating and executing a long-term vision for Elk Creek Church.
- Called to ministry and has a passion for outreach, both personally and at a ministry level.
- Holds a degree from a Bible college or seminary.
- Is licensed and ordained to the gospel ministry.
- Exhibits strong, visionary, and servant leadership.
- In agreement with Elk Creek’s Statement of Faith.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, organization, and implementation of all corporate services, prepare and deliver sermons and lead in the observance of church ordinances.
- Work closely with Elders to provide spiritual direction of the church
- Serve as a spiritual resource and advisor to the leaders of church ministries and committees.
- Work primarily with the executive team and board to facilitate communication, cooperation, vision, and unity among the ministries of the church.
- Coordinate the process of membership, termination of membership, and church discipline.
- Coordinate member meetings and the annual meeting.
- Provide specialized pastoral care when appropriate (funerals, weddings, hospital visits, etc.)
- Provide short-term individual counseling as needed
- Support, encourage, uplift, visit, and help those in our church and the community
Compensation:
- Starting salary $60,000-$70,000 based on education and experience.
