Youth and Groups Pastor

Position Overview:         

Pritchard Church is seeking a pastor to disciple, encourage, and build up our students and their families as our Youth and Groups Associate Pastor. This role is key in connecting with our teenagers, their families, and their circles. The ideal candidate will be pastoral in nature, actively fostering connections within the congregation and the surrounding community, beginning with our students, but also helping administer the groups ministry at Pritchard. The current youth ministry at Pritchard is not large, so that alone is not necessarily a full-time job. However, the students and their families will be the top priority of this role. In order to make it a full-time role, this person will also be responsible for administering and facilitating groups at Pritchard, which will likely take around 5-10 hours per week. 

Key Responsibilities:

Pastoral Care and Discipleship:

• Offer pastoral care, prayer, and support to students and their families within the Pritchard congregation.
• Promote gatherings and discipleship programs to foster spiritual growth and community for the students and their families.
• Conduct regular check-ins and follow-ups with youth and their families to ensure their spiritual and emotional well-being.

Collaborative Leadership:

• Work closely with other ministry leaders to ensure a unified vision and collaboration across generations.
• Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to the overall spiritual formation and growth of the church.
• Provide guidance and support to volunteer teams, ministries, or other church programs.

Cultivating Diverse Spiritual Growth Experiences:

• Create a diverse and dynamic youth ministry program, incorporating various events, studies, and group building time to help our youth navigate challenging years and situations.
• Collaborate with the pastoral team to ensure care is provided to all members of the congregation, but especially the young people.
• Discern ways to continue spiritual conversations with youth and their families throughout the week, not only on Sundays. 

Student Outreach:

• Take intentional steps to utilize events and youth ministries to reach out to those in the community and to friends of the current youth and their families.
• Encourage current youth to invite friends and to participate in outreach themselves.
• Consider creative ways to make new connections with those who are unchurched in our neighborhood, and in the neighborhood of our current youth and their families

Building and Administering Groups Ministry:

• Regularly disseminate information about upcoming groups.
• Help current group leaders and facilitators improve and grow in their work.
• Discern and train new leaders and facilitators within the congregation for new groups and new ways to foster connection in the community.

Qualifications:

We are seeking someone with a Master of Divinity or Bachelor of Arts in Theology/Ministry. If a Bachelor’s degree, then someone who is seeking to pursue a Master of Divinity. We are open to someone who is completing his/her last year or semester in either, starting as a part-time youth role and growing into full-time in the other roles upon graduation.

Pay:

Begins at $50k with competitive retirement and very strong benefits.
