Job Description:

Purpose:
To equip and disciple the adults of Old North Church through word-centered teaching, interpersonal training, and strategic program implementation. 

 

Qualifications

1.     Committed to personal discipleship. That is, growth toward Christian maturity in the areas of conviction, character, and competency through deepening relationships with God’s word and God’s people. 

2.     Strongly supports the mission, vision, values, and leadership of Old North. 

3.     Evidence of call, experience, skills, and giftedness. 

4.     Bachelor’s degree in ministry-related field, seminary training preferred. 

5.     Evidence of workplace habits in prior employment demonstrating: 

            a.     strong interpersonal skills. 

            b.     ability to work independently as a team member and team leader. 

            c.      ability to initiate and implement a plan of action for adults in spiritual growth, service, and evangelism. 

            d.     faithful steward in the use of time and resources. 

 

Responsibilities

1.     Lead and oversee the primary adult ministry teaching venues of the church, including Sunday morning and Wednesday nights. 

2.     Direct the church’s small group ministry (on and/or off-site), managing current groups and launching new ones. 

3.     Provide leadership and direction to men’s and women’s ministry and their respective teams. 

4.     Oversee and train the volunteer adult ministry leaders, teachers, and trainers. 

5.     Develop new leaders and teachers for deployment into a variety of adult ministry contexts. 

6.     Actively train and disciple the congregation in small group and one-to-one settings. 

7.     Provide venues and contexts for the congregation to connect relationally around the Word. 

8.     Participate in regular, Biblical, and public teaching in various Adult Ministry contexts. 

9.     Oversee appropriate budgets and line items in conjunction with the Executive Pastor. 

10.  Assist in shepherding the flock through other areas of pastoral ministry such as care, counseling, wedding, funerals, participation in corporate worship, etc.
