The technical director is responsible to oversee all technical operations for worship services, events, and weekly ministry at Collierville First Baptist regarding audio, video, and lighting (AVL). The technical director trains volunteers and oversees the administration and activities of the technical team ministry. The technical director coordinates maintenance for all audio, video, lighting, projection, wiring, and related software/hardware in the building. The Technical Director reports to the Worship Pastor.
LEADERSHIP STYLE:
The ideal candidate will possess a desire to be part of a team that collaborates with other staff leadership. Personality traits would be personable, high achieving, enthusiastic, and optimistic. Should be extremely self-motivated and driven for success without being micro-managed.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Develop a vision for ministries assigned with the objective of sharing the gospel, discipling believers, and producing positive results spiritually, numerically, and financially
- Lead in the planning, directing, and evaluating of assigned ministries
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate special projects such as, but not limited to, camps, retreats, mission trips, special events, worship services, construction projects, etc.
- Develop a robust volunteer team and equip qualified leaders and volunteers
- Supervise staff, leaders, and volunteers for assigned ministries and/or committees
- Utilize appropriate communication avenues to inform church and public
- Prepare and submit a budget for assigned ministries
- Oversee the spending of funds budgeted
- Assist in meeting the pastoral care needs of the church
- Meet regularly with worship staff and ministerial staff for planning, evaluating, and coordinating the various ministries of the church
- Work in agreement with the mission statement and core values of Collierville First Baptist
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Baptized, follower of Jesus Christ
- Passion for excellence in ministry
- Able to troubleshoot quickly and function professionally in stressful situations
- Proven record of team building and leadership development
- Degree or certification in a technology-related field, or a minimum of four years of successful work/ministry experience in a similar setting
- Highly proficient in mixing audio and programming lighting, presentation, and broadcast software with
sensitivity to musical and ministry excellence
- Able to oversee technical elements of a service in relationship to AVL related technologies
(sanctuary sound, media & stage, broadcast teams)
- Highly proficient with AVL wiring, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Highly proficient with ProPresenter, recording/editing software (ex. ProTools, Ableton, Photoshop, Premiere, Audition, Logic Pro, Final Cut X) and Planning Center or their equivalents.
