Abiding Harvest Church is looking for a new Associate Pastor. We are a growing and loving community with over 350 members, located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Our mission at Abiding Harvest is to make disciples, and our Associate Pastor will lead this charge within our community. This full-time position offers a flexible work schedule and a competitive salary.
We are looking for a qualified candidate with 3-5 years of experience serving as an Associate Pastor in a church with 500+ members. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and implementing an assimilation process for guests and members, overseeing
all adult discipleship programs, excellent congregational care skills, the ability to preach sermons, and a servant-leader mindset.
Some of your tasks could include preaching a 4-week sermon series, building a Bible study schedule for Sunday mornings, helping new guests assimilate into our body, leading our Discovery Class to help guests learn more about Abiding Harvest and themselves,
and visiting a member in the hospital.

Associate Pastor Job Description
Status: Full-time
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Direct Reports: TBD, ministry leaders and assigned church staff
Compensation: Competitive Salary

Responsibilities:
1. Assimilation
- Work with Artistry Labs, a church consultant firm we have engaged, to implement an improved assimilation process for the entire church.
- Oversee our 2-week Discovery Class, held 2-3 times per year, that helps new guests learn about Abiding Harvest and discover their own gifts and strengths.
- Oversee our Newcomer’s Dessert night at the Pastor’s house, held 2-3 times per year, where new guests meet our Senior Pastor and hear his heart and vision for Abiding Harvest.
- Help maintain and manage the assimilation process through Planning Center, our church management software.
- Implement our WeServe initiative through Planning Center, which is in the final stages of being built, to help congregants find opportunities to serve within our community.
2. Adult Discipleship
- Supervise Home Team leadership and help grow our home team participation year over year.
- Develop a Sunday morning adult education program from 9 am – 10 am with classes that appeal to ages 18 and up.
- Help support our Sunday morning adult education program by teaching one class at a time and developing other teachers from our congregation.
3. Pastoral Care Support
- WeCare is a system set up through Planning Center that helps us manage the prayer needs of our congregation and informs us when hospital visits and surgeries are happening. Your role would be to manage this system and ensure that congregational care is
taking place.
- Occasionally help support the pastoral staff during special events like weddings, funerals, Christmas Eve, Easter, or other special services at the church.
- Support the Senior Pastor by visiting our congregants who are sick, either at home or in the hospital, as assigned.
4. Worship Service Support
- Support Senior Pastor by preaching 10-12 weeks out of the year. This usually results in two 3-4 week Sermon Series and several individual sermons between series.
- Provide platform leadership on Sunday mornings as needed by hosting the announcements, praying, and helping lead our offering time.
5. Lay Ministry Support and Supervision
- Support Senior Pastor by recruiting, training, and supervising ministry leaders in key areas like Altar Prayer Team, Usher Greeter, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and Aspen Creek Devotions.
6. Staff Representation
- Meet with Worship Planning on Tuesday mornings from 9 am – 10 am.
- Meet with Staff on Tuesday mornings from 10 am – 12 pm.
- Attend Church Council Meetings quarterly.
7. Budget Management
- Develop and manage Discipleship and Adult Education budgets.
- Purchase supplies for Bible studies.
- Do expense reports and submit them monthly.
