The Position
We are looking for someone with one or more years of experience and a passion for sharing the Gospel in creative and unique ways that engage kids, their families, and the surrounding community. The ideal candidate will be empowered to strengthen our existing programs by collaborating with our Family Ministry staff and leadership, creating processes and programs that align with and deliver the overall vision of our church.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities
Establish a culture, shaped by the Gospel, that leads kids to Christ
Have knowledge of and be familiar with Awana
Teach and develop disciples through robust programming, anchored in the Word of God
Lead kids to participate in all aspects of the church
Grow the Kids Ministry by creating a clear vision and strategy which aligns with our CCH vision
Recruit, train and lead the Kids Ministry Team through effective team building
Manage and provide oversight to the Kids Ministry budget and space
Knowledge
Applicable Biblical Knowledge - Present the Gospel using relevant topics and lessons in an engaging manner, applying Biblical truth and values to an ever-changing world. Lead kids to Christ and know how to develop disciples both within and beyond the church.
Digital Communication - Connect with kids and parents by utilizing appropriate digital platforms and resources.
Equipping leaders - Leading/equipping/empowering volunteers in an urgent “call to action” on behalf of the program. Constant development of self and the program.

Relational – Energetic and full of fresh, exciting ideas. Connects with kids through their creativity, humor, storytelling and mutual love for Christ. Know the names of kids and parents, invest in their interests, and engage with them beyond church activities.
Leadership – Set the tone of the ministry. Kids Pastor is to inspire confidence, motivate, encourage, build enthusiasm and anchor the ministry with their obvious love for God and His people. Communicate clearly, take responsibility for mistakes, and respect the diversity of your colleagues.
Communicator - Communicate with kids, parents and colleagues by using effective vehicles to deliver a clear unified message. Speaks engaging/relevant/clear messages. Asks questions and actively listens to others, continuously learning and seeking to understand and improve.
