PRINCIPAL FUNCTION
The principal function of all pastoral staff at Pathway is to equip God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ will mature spiritually (Eph. 4:11-13). The ministry of equipping is accomplished through the Word, prayer, and modeling the Christian life (Acts 6:4; 1 Tim. 4:13; 2 Tim. 3:16-17). The ministry of equipping is secondarily a ministry of leadership and oversight of the church’s ministries and spiritual life (Heb. 13:7, 17; Acts 20:28; 1 Tim. 3:2; Titus 1:7). The pastoral staff is the leadership of the church, called by God, and financially compensated in order to devote full-time energies to the leadership and oversight of the church’s ministries. This is done under the accountability and direction of the Elder Board.
