Worship Leader

Vertical Church is seeking a Worship Leader who will passionately serve to fulfill the church's mission of “Making More and Better Disciples of Jesus Christ” through a gospel centered ministry.

Overview

All staff is expected to display a Christ-like character when interacting with each other, church attendees, and guests as well as understand and fully support Vertical Church’s mission and vision. It is expected that this position will require this individual to:

  • Provide for his or her own spiritual health through daily devotions, prayer and Scripture reading.
  • Model a Christ-like character both inside and outside the church family and campus.
  • Lead his/her team(s) with respect and humility while requiring excellence.
  • Understands and embraces the vision of Vertical’s worship ministry’s philosophy of team-lead worship approach. 

Major Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and oversee all the elements of the Worship Ministry.
  • Craft the worship services in conjunction with the Lead Pastor.
  • Lead and develop Worship Ministry difference makers.
  • Plan and oversee any special services or occasional worship events.
  • Partner with the production team as well as any difference makers or staff that contribute to the creative parts of the worship ministry such as graphics, set dressing, lighting, sound, etc.

Experience & Skills

  • Willing to chart a new course in areas that need improvement but sensitive to current things that are working well within the ministry. 
  • Proficiency to play with click tracks and knowledge of stems.
  • Experience leading with guitar and proficient on the keys and/or other instruments
  • Familiar with Planning Center and possess creative multimedia skills.

Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills that exude a positive attitude.
  • To self-motivate and make independent decisions.
  • A leader who cultivates and reproduces other worship leaders within the ministry that also coaches, equips and mobilizes others.
  • Understanding for band dynamics, worship environment production, and ministry teamwork in a worship team setting.

Experience

  • Previous experience of leading worship in a larger church setting.
  • Able to lead a larger worship team.

Expectations

  • 15hrs/week (Some office hours maybe needed)
  • Reports directly to Lead Pastor
