Executive Pastor

Vertical Church is seeking an Executive Pastor who will passionately serve to fulfill the church's mission of “Making More and Better Disciples of Jesus Christ” through a gospel centered ministry.

PURPOSE:

The Executive Pastor joins and supports the Lead Pastor helping lead Vertical Church. This position includes sharing or assuming direct oversight over various ministries as needed and as agreed upon by both the Lead Pastor and the Executive Pastor. He will be a high-capacity leader who builds teams to ensure the success of Vertical Church. Success is defined as a growing church fulfilling the vision of making more and better disciples of Jesus Christ.

  • Able to help people at all spiritual levels take their next step (unsaved to mature).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • To provide direct oversight and leadership to staff members and their perspective ministries including office staff.
  • To provide leadership and oversight of the church facilities
  • To work with the support of Stewardship Team and Personnel Team on staff development and church finances including budgeting.
  • To support and assistance in other potential ministries as needed and agreed upon by both the Lead Pastor and the Executive Pastor.
  • To recruit, oversee, meet regularly with, plan with, train and lead the leaders of the ministries he oversees.
  • To be a contributing member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • To organize and lead meetings agreed upon by both the Lead Pastor and the Executive Pastor.
  • To help assess other ministry needs and oversee fulfilling those needs by providing oversight and direction for ministries.
  • To preach when needed as agreed upon with the Lead Pastor.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Desires to invest in the communities that we are connected to and are reaching for the Kingdom.
  • He is a strategic thinker with a business mind with a pastor’s heart.

 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years of ministry experience.
  • Experience in leading people and administrating/organizing.
