Job Location: Renew Life Church, Midland, Texas
Reports To: Midland Campus Pastor
Position Status: Full-time, Non Exempt, Salary
Schedule: Monday-Thursday and Sunday; regular work hours
Purpose of Position:
The Worship Pastor is a spiritual and organizational leader who oversees the worship department of Renew Life Church Midland. Oversight of the worship department includes, but is not limited to, working alongside our pastoral team to craft a Sunday morning environment that is spirit-led, creative and excellent, developing and nurturing current worship team members, and inspiring and recruiting new worship team members.
Job Responsibilities & Duties:
- Communicate clear vision for your ministry to staff and volunteer teams on a regular basis.
- Collaborate with all ministries during the weekend services.
- Build a cohesive team by recruiting, training, developing, pastoring, retaining, and giving worship team members opportunities and feedback.
- Available and willing to handle pastoral needs within the Worship Department.
- Lead the team to assure overall goals are being met.
- Planning, preparation, and execution of all worship services, including scheduling of band members and rehearsals.
- Work with the Campus Pastor to set annual goals for the worship department that are in line with the campus goals and RLC’s vision.
- Manage Worship Department budget, including operations and payroll.
- Prepare tracks for worship sets for all services.
- Work alongside Production Director & Coordinator to stay in the know on all elements of A/V.
- Oversee all worship elements in young adult, youth & RLKids services.
- Spend time developing relationships and investing in the worship and tech teams helping them to grow spiritually and musically.
- Help train up-and-coming musicians.
Knowledge & Skills Needed:
- Proficient in a Mac based environment, clearly understand office equipment and software use.
- Working knowledge of Planning Center in order to make service schedules, schedule volunteers, etc.
- Ability to learn quickly and handle the flexibility of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Passionate about valuing people and helping them find their gifts and talents.
