Executive Pastor
Position Overview
The Executive Pastor is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of church staff, leading all functional areas in the accomplishment of the church’s mission. This includes weekly operations, strategic planning, administration, ministry management, and oversight of pastoral care.

Primary Responsibilities
- Support and execute the vision of the Senior Pastor.
- Manage and lead the everyday activities of the church staff under the authority of the Senior Pastor.
- Play an integral role in all personnel decisions within the church staff.
- Ensure the operational readiness of the church through leadership and oversight of the support staff performing duties in administration, finance, human resources, supply, and facilities management.
- Create systems and processes that further the church’s ministry objectives.
- Facilitate the annual strategic planning process including evaluation of ministry performance; review of mission, vision, and core values; development of key objectives and tactics; and establishment of short-term and long-term goals.
- Lead the church’s budgeting and financial planning processes.
- Serve as part of the church’s leadership team, helping to set the long-term objectives and strategies of the church.
- Oversee the church’s facilities and renovation plans including design and architecture, contractor selection, and construction.
- Participate in pastoral duties (officiating weddings and funerals, counseling, bible teaching, etc.) as needed.
- Provide information to the lead pastor and the board of directors on the overall health of the church and to present the current and planned actions to fulfill the church’s mission, vision, and goals.
Weekly Duties
- Meet with department leaders weekly to discuss ministry planning, area performance, financial planning, and upcoming events.
- Report to the Senior Pastor with a comprehensive report on the overall health and performance of the church.
- Organize and lead a weekly staff meeting.
- Cast vision for department leaders and volunteers.
- Oversee church communications and promotions – both internal and external.
- Oversee any ongoing projects.
