My name is Jason Callahan. I’m the Location Pastor at City First Church in Cape Coral, FL. We are one church with three physical locations and currently expanding. Our Broadcast Location is located in Rockford, IL.

Our Cape Coral Location has been around since 2016. My wife and I just moved from Miami, FL after helping lead a church since 2017. We became Location Pastors here earlier in 2024 and have a heart for our city and SWFL.

Cape Coral is currently of the fastest growing cities in the nation and there is an abundant need for more churches. We are seeing new faces come every single week and new families move to Cape Coral from all over the country.

We are expanding our team and currently looking for a Family Ministries Pastor. You can find all of the details about the role below. The main focus currently in our Family Ministries Department will be City First Kids.

Location Pastor, City First Church

Cape Coral, FL  

Purpose

To provide pastoral leadership and oversight for City First Kids and City First Youth at the Cape Coral Location, ensuring that all ministries align with the mission of City First Church to introduce everyone to Jesus and teach them to follow Him. The Family Ministries Pastor will cultivate engaging, effective and spiritual experiences for children and youth, fostering their relationship with God and encouraging parental involvement.

Principle Duties/Responsibilities 1. Leadership & Pastoral Care

• Serve on the City First Church Leadership Team, working collaboratively with Location Pastor and Location Staff.
• Provide pastoral care for children, youth and their families, including hospital visits and follow-ups.
• Facilitate counseling for students and support parents in their children’s spiritual development.

2. Programming Oversight

• Develop, manage and oversee City First Kids and City First Youth programming and events, including overseeing the Kids Ministry Playbook and Youth Ministry systems.
• Ensure all programming meets City First Church's standards and enhances spiritual growth.
• Oversee the Champions Club and ensure all environments safely meet established guidelines.

3. Team Development

• Recruit, train and equip volunteers and serve team members to create a thriving ministry environment.
• Foster an atmosphere that encourages and supports the development of future leaders within both Kids and Youth ministries.
• Oversee Ministry Partners and ongoing training development for youth leaders and team members.

4. Community Engagement

• Build relationships and partnerships with local schools and community leaders for outreach and engagement programs.
• Create opportunities for Youth and Kids to participate actively in weekend services and church events.

5. Administration & Strategy

• Develop and manage the ministry budget for City First Kids and City First Youth, ensuring the responsible use of resources.
• Utilize metrics to evaluate ministry effectiveness and formulate strategies for growth.
• Implement policies for safety and well-being of all minors in accordance with City First Church guidelines.

6. Events & Special Projects

• Plan and execute major annual events, camps and conferences for both City First Kids and City First Youth.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to create unforgettable experiences that resonate with children and youth.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• A committed follower of Jesus demonstrating spiritual maturity and leadership skills, in line with City First Church doctrine and values.
• Superior organizational, management and administrative abilities.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse groups of people.
• A proactive self-starter who seeks solutions and models integrity.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and make sound judgments regarding church matters.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and church management software.
• Clear passion for youth / kids to be reached and introduced to Jesus, developing them in their faith, and disciplining them in their relationship with God through various seasons of their lives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Possess an Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent career/ministry experience; a credentialed minister preferred.
• Experience in leading children's and youth ministries, including team development and program oversight.
