Job Title: Children's Pastor
Position Summary: The Children's Pastor leads and oversees Generations Ministries birth – 6th grade. This role is responsible for creating, developing, and executing a comprehensive ministry strategy that will foster spiritual, developmental, and relational needs of both children and their families.
Qualifications & Minimum Role Requirements
- Core traits include – Christian maturity, self-motivated, good judgement, problem solver, detail oriented, organized, and strong communicator.
- Possess a heart to serve, and to keep information confidential.
- Willing to work full-time hours per week/weekendsas defined by the Employee Handbook.
- Must be proficient in general computer skills and navigation.
- Capable of reviewing tasks and procedures and offering methods to improve processes.
- 3-5 years of ministry experience preferred
Essential Job Activities
- Weekly plan, prepare, and execute Sunday Generations services including preparing curriculum, communicating lesson plan with volunteers, purchasing needed items, and setting up classrooms.
- Weekly schedule, notify, and confirm adequate number of staff and volunteers to cover needs of weekend services and events.
- Weekly lead and oversee Generations Team during services to field & support any needs/requests that may arise.
- Weekly facilitate check-in ensuring proper setup, equipment functionality, and adequate staffing of volunteers.
- Weekly develop and facilitate training of volunteers to ensure effective on boarding and leader activation.
- Weekly identify and relationally connect with volunteers, members, and attenders within Decatur campus to lead them to the “next step” in their discipleship journey.
- Weekly attend staff meeting reviewing campus summary, metrics, strategic action items, goals, and completing tasks as assigned.
- Weekly perform administrative duties including connecting with new leads, scheduling childcare as needed, and payroll for childcare workers.
- Weekly share communication needs regarding ministry updates and upcoming events with Pastor of Community Life.
- Weekly ensure the generations classrooms are clean and equipped for weekend services.
- Monthly lead, encourage, and resource members of the Generations Team, including personal check-ins and hosting one-on-one meetings.
- Meet quarterly with ministry captains to build relationship, cast vision, and resource them to lead effectively.
- Host Summer VBS to encourage spiritual development and community in the students of TFC and Wise County.
- Attend monthly All-Staff meetings in Amarillo.
- Participate in the development of an annual strategic plan for the Decatur Campus

- Adheres to the Employee Handbook and organizational policies in both spirit and definition.
- Other duties as assigned.
