Position Summary: The Children’s Ministry Director is responsible for setting the vision and mission, ensuring alignment with the vision and mission of Faith, of the children’s ministry. The Children's Director will oversee and lead the spiritual development and well-being of children, from infancy through 5th grade, by creating engaging, age-appropriate programs that foster a love for God and His teachings. The Director will be responsible for recruiting, training, and leading a team of volunteers while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment where children and their families can grow in their faith.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Must have a vibrant, active, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- 1-3 years of experience leading a children’s ministry.
- Ability to build and lead teams effectively.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and take a project from ground zero to completion.
- Excellent in communication; able to articulate verbally and in written form.
- Equipped to Teach
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall operation and structure of the Children’s Ministry program (Infant – 5th grade), and its continuing development.
- Oversee Children’s Ministry by leading the Children’s Ministry staff, creating and sustaining scalable systems for communication, implementation of curriculum, events, and training initiatives, and providing vision and innovation for the growth and expansion of the ministry as God leads.
- Recruit, train, and encourage the Children’s Ministry Impact Team Members. The Children’s Ministry Director will constantly energize and inspire the Impact Team Members by fostering an environment where people are happy to serve and be fulfilled in their work.
- Develop an ethos within Children’s Ministry that constantly partners with parents. The Children’s Ministry Director will see themselves as an equipper, and encourager of parents. Innovating and implementing training events, family events, and communicating vision will be at the top the Director’s mind.
- Maintain a presence during weekend services within the Children’s Ministry environment along with occasional presence for the main worship auditorium as needed.
- Ensure the program is aligned with the mission and vision of Faith Church.
- Coordinate all children’s activities with the church calendar, to enhance, not conflict with the total ministry of the church.
- Oversee and coordinate all Children’s Sunday School activities, mid-week activities, summer activities, special events, and Impact Team Members.
- Supervise and coordinate all childcare needs to provide support for all other ministries.
- Oversee curriculum selection, development and ensuring its implementation.
- Attend, and participate in staff meetings working cooperatively with all other staff members.
- Prepare and execute the Children’s Ministry budget.
- Oversee children’s attendance and entering the church data system (can be done by Assistant)
- Work with FSM Ministry Directors to ensure smooth transition of 5thgraders into student ministry.
- Support Volunteer Coordinator and program for special needs families
- Oversee care of Children’s ministry equipment and facilities.
