Children's Ministry Director

Garden City is small church in the downtown Mesa area that planted a little over 4 years ago. We're made up of men and women who seek to be apprentices of Jesus and care deeply for our neighbors and neighborhoods. While we are non-denominational in name, we borrow practices and theology from the Anglican, Methodist, and Mennonite movements.

We meet in the mid-week in gospel communities for meals, prayer, and serving the other. We meet Sunday mornings at 10am for the teaching of God's word, encouragement, and to celebrate the Eucharist.

We are currently looking for a part time Children’s Director to help us strengthen and grow our children’s ministry.

The children's ministry director, in partnership with our pastors, leads, develops, implements and coordinates the children's ministry of our church, birth through 11 years of age. 12 years and up are with us during our gathering.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement a relational program that helps children and families to know God and be known by him throughout their developmental years in accordance with the vision of Garden City Church.
2. In partnership with our pastors, help recruit and schedule both volunteer and paid children’s workers for our birth-5 year old room and our 6-11 year old class.
3. Eventually, be the primary teacher for our 6-11 year old class (not developed as of yet) following a Biblical curriculum selected together as a team.
4. Be an encouraging apprentice of Jesus who seeks to encourage our families on Sundays and during the week.

Time Commitment:

Commitment of 3-4 hours a week. This will include 2 hours on campus during our gathering. Roughly 9:15am-11:15am. The other 1-2 hours will be scheduling and seeking ways to encourage our families. i.e. note writing, sending helpful guided family prayers, etc…
