Job Description:

Washington First Methodist is seeking a Senior Pastor gifted in pulpit ministry, community relations, pastoral care and leadership of staff.  This Methodist Church has joined the Global Methodist Church.

The staff includes 12 capable people who lead many ministries and programs already established.

The congregation is very loving and caring and desires to grow the kingdom in our community.  Our average worship attendance is 110 at a weekly 11:00 am service.  The service is led by the pastor and worship team.  A gifted choir is a significant part of the worship experience.

Men's and Women's Ministries are well attended.  These are offered on a monthly basis and are laity led.  A community Pre-K, Children and Youth programs are a viable part of the ministry.  Weekly Sunday School classes are offered for all age groups.

The salary package includes salary, health insurance, pension, parsonage, travel, education training. The package is $100,000.

The Washington First Methodist Church is a historic church with some impressive facilities available for ministry.  The sanctuary and main building is located at 102 W. Liberty Street in Washington, GA.  The main building has a cornerstone of 1907.  

The main properties have been acquired over a span of time and they combine to create an impressive campus of ministry based buildings.

We are seeking a full time pastor who will lead our congregation and staff with our Music Ministry, Community Youth Group, Sunday School, PreK program, Men's and Women's Ministries and Outreach. 

A historic parsonage is owned and maintained by the church and is available for the pastoral family.
