4-6 Grade Coordinator/Jr High-High School Coordinator

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is threefold: (1) Preparing and leading Bible lessons in our 4th-6th grade setting.
(2) Planning and leading ministry opportunities to 7th-12th grade students [Exit83]. (3) Growing in pastoral
responsibilities through hands-on training and participating with our pastoral leadership on a regular basis to
facilitate pastoral development.
The position will provide the opportunity to serve under experienced pastoral leadership as they work to
develop and grow a Sunday morning program for 4th-6th grade students, and planning and working with
7th-12th grade youth ministry alongside our Pastor of Student ministries in a mid-week environment. The
position provides the chance to gain practical ministry and training in a work atmosphere. This will provide
personal and professional guidance utilizing their gifts and call to vocational ministry. This will also develop
them spiritually and theologically.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
- For the 456 Degree coordinator portion, the coordinator will be accountable to the LIFEkids Pastor.
- For the Exit83 portion of the position, the coordinator will work with and report to the Student Ministries
Pastor.
4-6 Grade Coordinator Description
The overall objective is to present and show by example the gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and to
encourage them in their growth through the study of scripture, prayer, service, and fellowship.
• Plan and carry out weekly Sunday morning ministry.
• Lead Sunday morning ministry to 4th-6th grade students
• Develop relationships with students, parents, and volunteer staff through individual and group contact,
mail, e-mail, and phone.
• Actively participate in regular worship and life of Life Bible Fellowship Church.
• Meet weekly with the LIFEkids Director and Pastoral Staff for prayer, planning, study and
communication.
• Plan a monthly activity/fellowship time for the kids.
• Maintain personal, spiritual, and professional growth.
Exit83 Coordinator Description
This position is meant to give a 360 degree perspective of student ministry leadership. This includes:
• General Youth Ministry function: Budget, calendar, volunteer recruiting, and communication
• Planning and execusion of mid-week ministry: Announcements, teachings, games, videos, small groups
• Online communications: Social media, emails, MyLO database
• Planning of camps: Sign-ups, advertising, host camp communication, budget
• Special event planning: Scheduling, sign-ups, gathering resources
• Student interaction: Meeting with students outside of normal group times
• Parent interaction: Following up with parents to communicate necessary information about an event
or questions they may have
Pastor In Training Description
• Ongoing pastoral development meetings with the Youth Pastor and LIFEkids Pastor, as well as other
designated pastors.
• Attend Pastoral staff Meetings.
• Be a part of the Pastor-On-Duty (POD) rotation for observational training through pastoral phone calls,
walk-ins or visitations, and participate in all-staff church events throughout the year.
• Be a part of the Sermon Preview on a regular rotation.
• Engage in sermon prep mentoring (ie: rotation of pastors/lay-ministry leaders)
• Take responsibility for other possible teaching opportunities: Men’s Ministry, Staff Devos, etc.
• Find (1) local organization to engage/participate with at least once/month (ie: Local Christian School,
Local Outreach Partner, etc.)

TIME COMMITMENT
• Full time (approx. 40-50 hours per week)
• 25 hrs. per week - 7-12 grade Youth Ministry (Exit83)
• 11 hrs. per week - 4-6 grade Children's ministry
• 4 hrs. per week - Pastoral development: (examples include, but are not limited to) Hospital &
Home Visitation, One-on-one Counseling, Pre-Marriage & Marriage Counseling, Officiating
Weddings & Memorials, Sermon Preparation.
