STUDENT MINISTRY ASSOCIATE
PURPOSE
To reach students for Christ so that they love God, love others, and live on mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help establish the student ministry vision, strategy, and structure for programs, events, curricula, etc.
- Communicate the student ministry vision, along with First Baptist Church vision, down to your leaders and volunteers, up to your ministry team, and out to parents and the community.
- Assist in planning the yearly student ministry budget, alongside the Student Pastor. Manage the spending and budget allocations to ensure ministry stewardship, growth, and goal achievements.
- Intentional event planning throughout the year to connect students to our ministry, engage them in the church community, ground them in the Word of God, and help them in their next steps of growth in their relationship with Christ: Student Camp, Retreats, Mission Trips, Grade specific events, etc.
- Clarify wins and gauge effectiveness for the Student Ministry. Evaluate and measure success for programs, teams, ministry events, and more. Identify areas of growth and blind spots in ministry.
- Organize and input the data prior to operating a well-functioning Ministry Platform System.
- Oversee scope and sequence for student ministry small group curriculum.
- Lead your team to manage gaps between age transitions from elementary to middle school, middle school to high school, and high school to post-high school.
- Develop a plan for volunteer leader recruitment, training, and equipping. This includes the implementation of policies, procedures, and all safety paperwork and training.
- Develop a team of leaders to reach, teach, minister, and nurture students from 6th through 12th grade.
- Inform all volunteers of best safety practices and behaviors when leading teens.
- Continue to discover and implement ways to train volunteers, expand their knowledge and ways of application, and further equip volunteers in ministry.
- Create and nurture community for your staff and volunteers.
- Always look for ways to encourage all volunteers and student ministry staff.
- Partner with parents to elevate their roles as the Primary Disciple Makers of their students.
- Connect with parents regularly to assess the way we are ministering to them and their teens.
- Provide ongoing resources that will help a parents disciple their teen.
- Know and love students in the Student Ministry by building a relationship with each of them through weekly programming and individual/family interests.
- Be engaged and involved in the schools to develop relationships with students and families.
- Minister to and shepherd students and their families.
- Continue to evaluate the process for how your team engages student guests and their families.
- Will be a leader/coordinator for all weekly programming – Sunday morning small groups, Wednesday night Midweek, etc.
- Create and monitor ways for students to serve the Body of Christ. This includes discovering, understanding, and successfully utilizing their individual talents and spiritual gifts.
- A primary function of the role will be leading out to reach students in our local public schools
- Implement a comprehensive mission strategy for progressing students in missions from 6th grade through the end of high school.
- Involve students in local, state, national, and international missions. This includes maintaining an intentional pipeline for students to grow in their understanding of and experiences in missions.
- Coordinate and lead events designed to reach out to new students, disciple maturing students, and include their families.
- Lead in the development of outreach and discipleship event themes and content.
- Create ways to reach unchurched families in the greater Mt. Juliet/Wilson County area.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- The Student Ministry Associate must be a participating member at First Baptist Church Mt. Juliet by attending, serving, and giving faithfully.
- The Student Ministry Associate must be a committed Christian with evidence of a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- The Student Ministry Associate must be able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a pleasant attitude and positive ministry outlook.
