Worship Pastor

The Edge Church is seeking a passionate and spiritually mature Worship Pastor to lead our congregation in authentic, Spirit-filled worship experiences. The Worship Pastor will oversee all aspects of the worship ministry, including planning services, leading the worship team, and fostering a heart of worship in the church community. This individual must have a strong musical background, leadership skills, and a deep commitment to the spiritual growth of the congregation through worship.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Worship Leadership:

• Lead and oversee worship services, ensuring they align with the vision and theology of the church.

• Select, arrange, and prepare music for all worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor.

• Lead the congregation in worship, both vocally and instrumentally (if applicable).

• Introduce new songs and maintain a balance between contemporary and traditional worship music.

2. Team Development:

• Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members, including vocalists, musicians, and technical volunteers.

• Conduct efficient rehearsals to ensure musical excellence and spiritual preparation.

• Foster a sense of community, unity, and spiritual growth within the worship team.

3. Service Planning & Coordination:

• Collaborate with pastors and ministry leaders to design worship services that complement the sermon themes and special events.

• Coordinate with technical teams (audio/visual, lighting) to ensure a seamless worship experience.

• Plan and lead worship for special services such as Christmas, Easter, weddings, funerals, and church events.

4. Spiritual Leadership:

• Model a life of worship, prayer, and spiritual discipline, actively engaging in the life of the church.

• Provide pastoral care to worship team members and congregation as needed.

• Engage in ongoing spiritual and professional development through prayer, study, and training.

5. Administrative Duties:

• Oversee the worship ministry budget and ensure appropriate use of resources.

• Manage scheduling, licensing, and other administrative tasks related to worship services and events.

• Maintain and oversee worship equipment, ensuring proper care and upkeep.

Qualifications:

• A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a deep passion for worship and ministry.

• Previous experience in worship leading in a church or similar setting.

• Proficient in leading worship vocally and/or instrumentally (guitar, piano, etc.).

• Strong leadership and team-building skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and ministry teams.

• Familiarity with a wide range of worship music styles. 

• Familiarity with a wide range of technology (Planning Center, Pro Presenter, Pro Tools, Playback, etc.) 

• Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.

• A degree in music, ministry, or theology (preferred, but not required).
